Cassia's POV:
Looking around my studio apartment I smiled, taking in the stunning scenery as the sun set, staring contently out my french windows, snuggling further into my quilt as I watched the sky melt into a gorgeous hue of orange, pink and red. I giggled to myself as I sipped my tea, tearing my eyes away from the serene and back to my book. Ever since Spencer and I bonded over our love for books and similar tastes, we had been sharing our recommendations, with his most recent one being 'The Illustrated Man' by Ray Bradbury.
I laid against my pillows as I read, enjoying the silence and tranquillity that washed over me. After the hectic last 2 weeks, it was nice to finally not have to be up on my feet, battling against the evils of this world. Not that I didn't enjoy the crap out of my job and all it has to offer, but it was nice to be able to relax for a change.
Getting this job was the best thing that could have happened to me. Not only am I doing what I've always wanted to do (which is help others) whilst using my knowledge and skills, but I was able to make some amazing friends. From gossiping with Garcia during lunch breaks, shopping with JJ during the weekends and going to cafes with Emily in the morning to poker nights with Derek, learning new recipes from Rossi and cocktail nights with the whole gang. I had found a family of sorts.
However, there was one person who meant more to me than anyone else. The hazel-eyed beauty who plagued my mind from the minute I opened my eyes to the moment they closed. He was the sun, moon and stars in my eyes. From his bashful nature, innocent face, wide, puppy-like eyes, warm smile and endless stream and knowledge stored in his stunning brain that pooled out of his baby-soft lips, there was nothing about this man that didn't absolutely enrapture me.
Almost as though the universe had heard my thoughts, my phone rang, his adorable smile engulfing my screen, the name 'Pretty Boy~ <3' falling underneath his icon. Quickly placing my bookmark back into my book, I settled on the bed before happily answering the call.
"Hey Spency! What's up?" I asked, smiling from ear to ear as I awaited his soft voice responding. The sound of his sniffles tore the smile right off my face though. "Spencer, hunny, you alright?" I asked, biting my lip in worry as I got up from my bed, making my way over to my wardrobe. "I-I really need you right now. I-I-" "Spencer, sweetheart, I'm on my way ok? Send me your location and I'll come to your place, ok hun?" I cut him off, my heart clenching tightly in my chest as I heard his soft sobs.
Quickly throwing on some clothes (a black hoodie and some sweats), I looked to see he had sent the location already, calming a little bit. "C-can you please stay? On the call?" He asked, his voice hoarse and raspy. I nodded before realising he couldn't see me. "Of course, I won't hang up until I'm in front of you. Ok?" I whispered, afraid if I spoke any louder I'd scare him. A small 'please' flowed from him, causing me to frown, pouting as I slipped into my car and drove off to his place.
Time Skip: At Spencers Apartment:
Once I pulled up at his apartment, I softly asked the number of his apartment, smiling when he explained where he lived and how to get to his apartment. I walked into the quant lobby, smiling at the old man who ran the front desk before explaining I was here to see Spencer. Once he saw I was on a call with him, he shot me a gummy smile before letting me continue on my journey. I hummed in agreement at all his directions, making my way to the stairs, not wanting to risk losing connection with him in the elevator.
After a gruelling 10 minutes, my legs shaking, my chest heaving due to the unwarranted cardio, I quickly wiped the sweat off my brow before walking over to Spencer's door. Apartment 4D. "Spencer, babes, I'm outside your door," I sighed out, smiling when I heard his footsteps from the other side of the door. Soon, the mahogany wood separating the two of us disappeared, instead his face in my line of sight. I could have cried right then and there.
His eyes were bloodshot, tears still fresh on his cheeks and pooling under his stunning brown iris'. His nose dusted with a pinkish hue from his previous crying. Clad in a Star Trek shirt and a pair of plaid sleeping pants, with his signature mismatched red and white socks. There he was, Spencer Reid; the pretty boy, 'my pretty boy' I thought, smiling as he let me in. Once the door closed, I instantly wrapped my arms around him, not caring about anything else.
I relaxed when I felt him collapse in my arms, his sobs wracking his body. I cooed, placing a soft, gentle kiss on the crown of his head as he buried his face in my neck, curling himself as far into my body as he could. Leading him to the couch, still stuck to my body like glue, I laid down, allowing him to slot his lean body between my thighs, his face taking refuge in the crook of my neck, his arms tightening their grip on my waist as he pressed himself further into my embrace. I smiled down at him, kissing his forehead as I rubbed his back soothingly with one hand, the other one slotting itself into his hair, scratching soothing marks into his scalp.
I felt my heart swell as soon as I felt his sobbing stop, instead replaced by his little whimpers of relief, almost like when a puppy seeks comfort in the embrace of its owner. "This ok, pretty boy?" I murmured against his hair, smiling once again when he nodded, too engrossed in the comfort he was receiving. "You wanna talk about it now or take a nap now and talk later?" I asked, nuzzling his head with my nose. He giggled at the feeling before responding. "Really sleepy right now," He slurred out.
Understanding what he meant, I whispered for him to sleep, assuring him I'd still be here when he got up. Once his breathing evened out, and his grip loosened, I slowly slipped out, wrapping him in the blanket hanging off the back of the couch. I stood up, placing a placid kiss on his head before cleaning up his apartment, lighting some candles, dimming the lights and whipping up some food in case he got hungry when he got up. Looking towards the couch, I couldn't help but think of what it would be like for this to be my life; coming home to him, cuddling on the couch before cooking up something to eat before getting lost in one another, and then finally falling asleep in each other's embrace. 'What a dream that would be...'
