Reyna taps a finger impatiently against her forearm, reclined as she is in her chair, one leg propped up on the other, watching the rest of the agents trickle in through the door into the briefing room. Brimstone is at the forefront of it all, discussing something with Sabine at the front of the room, snippets of the conversation slipping through. Something about Chamber, about the...nature of their newer agents — a jab at Reyna's hiring, for sure.
Sabine...what a snake. Reyna's never been able to pin her character down, even when they had been in the same Kingdom facility, back when Sabine had been too foolish to think that Lucia, young as she was, could have made a good experiment.
It disgusts her, to this day; itches at her when she knows Sabine is the one tending to her little sister at the end of it all, holding her life with unsteady hands. Reyna detests it all. But such is the unfairness of life and death, she supposes. She is forced to walk that tightrope amidst the circus audience, filled to the brim with sneering demons and angels alike, eagerly waiting for her fall.
Cruelty is fickle with its victims.
"Alright, listen up!" Brimstone claps his hands together once, immediately stopping conversations mid-way and curbing wandering minds. "First of all, we have made progress on the Alpha-Omega teleporter, with thanks to Killjoy and, in part, Raze, Neon and Chamber."
Neon visibly blanches at their names being in the same sentence; Killjoy has a proud smile on her face as Raze claps her on the back.
"Secondly, some new surveillance footage of Phoenix's scuffle with Omega Jett has resurfaced. The nature of it is suspicious. You know what this means, the both of you." Brimstone shoots a pointed look at Phoenix. "No skipping debriefs in the future either."
Two groans, a noticeably louder one from Phoenix.
"Everett-Linde family members have also started asking questions. I want the team working on the teleporter to shift to our grounds."
Killjoy's mouth opens like a dead fish. Chamber's face is impassive.
Amidst the disgruntled murmurs, including some asking of Astra's whereabouts, Brimstone flashes his eagle gaze over the room, settling on Reyna, then on Sage and Neon. "Lastly, I have been thinking of formalising Radiant training for all relevant agents. Naturally, this will extend to new recruits."
Reyna sits a little straighter. This could be an opportunity, a rather delicious one, at that. The potential...Jett, Phoenix, Yoru (when he isn't off doing his own thing) and Neon would do well to learn from her experience. More trained soldiers to fight back against Kingdom and their selfish directives. The excitement of it all almost warms her Radianite heart.
Sage, next to her and poised in her chair, turns slightly to look at her, and Reyna, almost attuned to everything she does, meets her gaze.
"It will help them navigate dangerous situations," Sage says firmly, to seemingly no one in particular, but Reyna knows better. Brimstone continues briefing in the background, and she returns her attention to him.
"And it is time to see, Sage, the limits of technology, of humanity," Reyna replies easily, drilling a hole into the back of Sabine's head with the force of her gaze. If only she could do that.
Sage's jaw bunches, but she doesn't respond. Reyna can hear her gulp, loud as thunder in her ears, and she revels in it, in the absolute mystery and enigma that is Sage. But no matter, Reyna'll make her see reason soon.

Sage can sense Neon's irritation when Killjoy approaches the conduction cells a little too closely for the nth time, and jumps in to give their resident scientist a gentle reminder to adhere to her own protocols — before Neon does it for her in a less gracious manner. It had been a good decision to observe at least one round of testing for herself; it would make for some accurate, first-hand reporting back to Brimstone. Admittedly, however, she must have come at a...not so appropriate time.
