Surprisingly, it went better than Reyna thought it would. Neon is running several laps at a consistent pace, despite starting the session heated, mumbling in Tagalog under her breath, electric blue hair ruffled and mussed. She had been focussed too, and their results had been...somewhat impressive, despite it being a first lesson.
Reyna doesn't want to admit that it could be partially due to Sage's influence relaxing everyone's nerves somehow.
Neon is sprinting so fast that all she is was a very blue blur. Reyna's unsure if she should stop her, given that this run was supposed to be her cooldown, but Neon has a deeply furrowed brow and clenched fists and somehow, Reyna knows it's a Chamber problem.
"It was a very productive first lesson," Sage remarks, coming up beside her with her dark hair in a bun. Sweat lines her forehead, plastering strands of her fringe to her pale skin, which she dabs at with the back of her hand.
Reyna hums, turning to observe Neon once more—she doesn't know why she bothers however, when she's faster than the human eye can see. She gives up. "One-on-one lessons do seem best."
In afterthought, she recalls the superhuman-like capabilities she had been given after Sage had breathed life energy into her. The power coursing through her veins, the way her muscles responded easily, how every thought cut clearly through her mind like a sharpened blade.
It had felt like she was alive. The world was hers. The world had her. And she had the world. Her toppled crown placed gently on her hair.
"It does have its merits." Sage crosses her arms over her chest, scanning the marks Neon is leaving burnt into the simulation room floor. Reyna slides her gaze down to pink lips. "It would be easier to pick out weaknesses and tackle them directly."
As much as Reyna would love to rile her up on purpose, they are surprisingly agreeing on everything so far. She couldn't be in a better mood.
"Any idea why Neon would be so worked up today?"
Sage huffs, a short puff through her nose. "Chamber has allegedly figured out the release protocol for her bracer. He has been suggesting removing it for a while now."
Her hunch was correct, and it only made her a tad more suspicious about Vincent. It wasn't her business, but she can't help but feel a little protective over Neon. She had made a promise, after all.
"He doesn't get it!" Neon all but screams in frustration as she slows, screeching to a stop with the smell of burnt rubber, smoke at her heel. "I can power the whole of Taguig! The damn bracer stays on!" She seems to remember herself, and shrinks back with a softer grumble. "...I'll only ever take it off once I can master my Radiance."
"We won't let him remove it," Sage responds calmly, "You will find that Brimstone is as unmovable as a boulder."
Neon nods minutely, glancing over. "Reyna?"
"If anything you ask concerns silencing Chamber, I would be happy to accept."
"Reyna!" Sage hisses, and gives her an elbow to the ribs, a reaction all too natural that makes Reyna chuckle. Neon slides her gaze between the two, a growing smile on her face.
"Okay, kahit ano. Am I done for today?"
"You've not asked your question, cariño."
"Well...it's not really a question..." Neon trails off, glancing between Reyna and Sage once again before clearing her throat. "The both of you work surprisingly well. Like, I don't know how to explain it. You're opposites, but you make it work. You know how to push people to their limits, Sage. And Reyna, I never knew there were so many problems with my footwork and how I was running. I actually feel amazing after today. Like I got better. More aware, or something."
