Alderaan, once a center of galactic culture, was now just a series of floating asteroids; an asteroid field that was now host to the soon to be largest space battle since the battle of Coruscant twenty five years ago at the height of the Clone wars.

Ackbar stared out of the viewport of his command bridge. He was forced to leave the Home One in favor of the Viscount for this particular battle.

The Viscount, was not the only dreadnought in his fleet, she was accompanied by the captured Executor class of warlord Zsinj, the Iron Fist.

Ackbar had at his disposal, close to a hundred and thirty capital grade warships comprising captured Imperial ships and Mon Calamari cruisers and around two hundred escorts.

Opposed to him were two Executor class super star destroyers that they were yet to identify by name.

The two titans were engulfed by about a hundred capital ships mostly of the modified Imperial II line of star destroyer, a nest of air defenses and hangar space as opposed to the mighty battleships of the past and Victory I class star destroyers.

The escorts of the Imperial fleet consisted mainly of Carrack class cruisers and Lancer class frigates. Around a total of one hundred and fifty were used to fill in the gaps.

“Battle formation galactica.” He ordered. This was the battle formation he had devised for this particular battle. One of such scale and size would need its own separate tactics to win.

Vader observed the New Republic fleet from his old flagship the Devastator. Opting for a less obvious target than the two Executors; Broadside and Hood.

“Are the Arquintens’ in position?” He asked the four Rear Admirals he had assigned to his trump card move; a cylindrical formation around the rebel fleet of more than a hundred Arquitens class cruisers.

“Yes Lord Vader.” They replied, almost in unison. “Reduce the radius to a thousand-five hundred clicks from the New Republic fleet.” He ordered.

“Left and center right, move into weapons range and unload missiles and torpedoes.” He ordered.

Ackbar observed as Vader’s left and center right approached his center left and right. Ackabr sent his counterparts forward to meet the Dark Lords’ head on.

Han Solo was in charge of Ackbars’ right and longed to give Vader a bloody nose ever since the events on Hoth and later Jabba’s palace.

Han stared at the tactical display, showing Vader’s left. Near exclusively Victory Is with a few Imperial IIs to provide fighter support.

‘Those ships could slag me where I stand but at turbolaser range…’ He drifted off to several battles involving Mon Calamari cruisers and various star destroyer types.

The cruisers were capable of broadsiding and even beating the much stronger Imperial Is and IIs while he had seen Victories turn lone cruisers to molten slag but his cruiser wasn’t alone.

“Overlap shields and full speed ahead.” He ordered. Not a minute later he was nudged back slightly by the acceleration of the cruiser as it charged forwards towards the enemy.

“Sir, they are opening up with missile vollies.” His radar officer informed. “Raise deflector shields. Order three squadrons of A wings and all point defense gunners to attempt and interception.” He responded.

Said volleys were close to two hundred heavy battleship missiles; big and powerful but not very maneuverable.

The three squadrons had moved ahead of his corps so they were between the missiles and their Generals’ ships.
