Part 2 - A Strange Morning

It was Friday morning when Kaminari woke up. "Ugh... turn it off!" groaned Kaminari as he tried to turn off the relentless beeping of his alarm. He got up, took a shower, and got dressed.

He wasn't particularly exited to face the day ahead of him, but then he remembered something- Jiro. Kaminari started to get excited. He really wanted to get to class now, so he hurried up. He got breakfast and went to class.

KAMINARI'S POV

When I got to class, I surprised myself and everyone else when I was not only on time, but early. "Woah, this must a miracle." I heard a familiar voice speak from behind me.

I turned to see Kyoka Jiro sarcastically smirking at me. She had a braid on each side of her face. I thought she looked absolutely adorable. I felt the butterflies in my stomach grow, but kept myself collected.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Trying a new style?" I asked. I was genuinely curious since Jiro wasn't one to change her style, so this was new. She looked down and started playing with her earphone jacks out of embarrassment.

"It looks stupid, I know, but Momo was begging me to let her do my hair and-"I cut her off. It was killing me seeing Jiro insecure when she was so cute. 

"Jiro, stop! You're kidding yourself! You're gorgeous! You look adorable, and anyone who thinks otherwise is out of their minds!"

I realized what I said. Crap! Why did I say that?! It's way too obvious, she's gonna figure it out! Thankfully Mr. Aizawa came in at that moment and we all went to our seats.

JIRO'S POV

D-did he just call me adorable? Ugghhhh why does this feeling kept coming back?! I know I have feelings for the stupid idiot, but why does my body have to remind me?!?! Suddenly, the bell rang, snapping me off my thoughts. Wait, is class over already?

As I was walking down the hall I heard someone call my name from behind me. I acted like I didn't hear and started walking faster. "I know you heard me so stop pretending you didn't!"

I kept ignoring it. I didn't feel like dealing with Mina's matchmaking shenanigans, since I assumed that she saw what happened with Kaminari and I before class.

TIME SKIP TO LUNCH

I sat down at the girls' table and started to eat. I was dreading the upcoming conversation with Mina once she arrived with her food.

A couple minutes later, Mina marched up to the table with her tray, sat down across from me, and looked at me with an innocent yet malicious smile. That's when I got worried.

"Heyyy Jiro~" Mina said happily. "What do you want?" I asked grumpily. "Soooo, what happened with you Kaminari this morning?"Mina inquired. "Nothing." I stated.

"Nothing? Really?" She said unsatisfied. "Yes, nothing." I said bluntly. "So, the fact that you two turned the same color as me is just nothing?"

Mina was pressuring me to slip up and admit something but I wasn't budging. "Just drop it ok?" I said rather sternly giving her a death glare.

"Fineeeeee!!!" Mina wasn't satisfied, but she knew she'd better drop it for her own good.

KAMINARI'S POV

At the boys' lunch table, I was having a similar time. The guys (mainly Sero) we're teasing me about my crush and what I said that morning.

"Dude when are you gonna just ask her out?" Sero had been pressuring me to to ask Jiro out at every interaction we had, and it was kinda annoying. "I dunno! I just, can't?" 

"What do you mean you 'just can't'?! You've probably asked out and embarrassed yourself in front of 99.99% of the female population in our school, and you can't ask out one little emo tsundere?!"

Sero was right, and I knew that. So, I was gonna be honest. "Yeah, pretty much. Ironic, ain't it?" I said with a sad and nervous chuckle.

I glanced over to the girl's table, and my eyes found Jiro. Kirishima noticed me staring and followed my gaze, giving me a small chuckle when he realized what I was looking at.

"Hehe, you really like her don't you?" Kirishima said with a genuine smile. "Yeah, she's just so... perfect." I smiled. I kept my eyes fixed on Jiro.

Suddenly, she glanced up and noticed me. She turned bright red when she saw me, stared back at me for a second, then quickly looked away.

Huh, that was weird. I thought to myself. Dammit, I probably embarrassed her this morning and now Mina's going feral.

"You disgust me." Mineta scolded me (or at least he tried). He had noticed where I was looking too.
"Huh? Why?" I asked. I wasn't really sure as to why I was even paying attention to him since he treated Jiro like garbage.

"Why? WHY?! DUDE YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH A PANCAKE!!!" He yelled loud enough for the whole cafeteria to hear.

Needless to say- I was ready to kill him. But I knew I'd probably get expelled for that, so I took an alternative route- a tactical diplomatic solution, if you will.

To put it simply, I punched him. Right then and there. I landed one directly on his nose.  Thankfully, in that moment, I was able to muster an ounce of restraint as to not knock him out cold.

Kirishima pulled me to the side of all the commotion and asked what happened. "Mineta is treating Jiro like shit AGAIN!!!" I was pissed.

Suddenly, I noticed Jiro running over to me, and Mina pulled Kirishima out of the room. I was worried that she would start to yell at me, but she didn't. Instead, she went right past the crying grape, came right up to me and hugged me tight.

My head was spinning, I didn't know what to say. It was like my body was on autopilot and I immediately hugged her back, squeezing her tightly.

She looked up at me with pink cheeks and softly said, "Are you okay?" I could hardly think straight. I had never heard her use that tone before, and it was driving me crazy.

"Eh, uh, y-yeah" My face started burning. She noticed my blush and let go, and to be honest, I was sad.

"S-sorry..." she said slowly turning red. "No, no! It's okay! Please, don't apologize!" I said excitedly, as I still hadn't gotten over how she spoke to me.
The day went on, and I had only one thing on my mind- Jiro's voice.

Mr. Aizawa was really mad at me for breaking Mineta's nose and giving him a black eye, but he just gave me a lot of detention because my friends told him that Mineta was provoking me and did it on purpose.

Knowing the kind of annoying person Mineta is, he believed them. The only thing I could think about all day was What was that tone she used? And why is it driving me so crazy?

TIME SKIP TO AFTER DINNER

After dinner, everyone was sitting in the living room talking with their friends or doing something they enjoyed.

I was sitting on the couch on my phone, listening to music, when suddenly, Jiro plopped down right next to me.

God, what do I do? I was silently panicking when suddenly, Jiro started humming quietly...
