Part 5-

Kaminari POV

I slowly walk up the stairs, making my way to Jiro's dorm. I'm starting to get nervous, and my hands start sweating. Needless to say, I'm really worried about her.

Jiro has an emo exterior, so she seems all tough, but she's a lot deeper than she seems. She's actually extremely sensitive and has very low self esteem, which honestly breaks my heart. She's so beautiful and perfect and cute..... I wish she could see herself through the same lens as me.....

As I reach her door, I hesitate. I mean, what am I supposed to say, "Hey Jiro! I know I probably just screwed up your self image, your reputation, how you view me, and quite possibly our whole friendship, but I just wanted to say that I apologize!" ?

Just as I'm about to knock on her door, she opens it up and drags me into her room.

Jiro POV

I have been listening to music on my bed, trying to forget this awful morning, when I see Kaminari's shadow underneath my door. I open the door and pull him into my room, shutting and locking the door behind him.

"H-Hey!" He shouts, surprised.

"I-I think we need to talk, Denks....." I whisper just loud enough for him to hear.

"O-Oh....Yeah, definitely...." He mumbles scratching the back of his head.

We sit on my bed and have a moment of silence before Kaminari breaks the silence.

"Are you okay?"

His question surprises me. I am quite obviously not okay. However, as it seems to be human nature to lie about this subject, I look down and say, "Yeah....", which is probably one of the biggest lies that has ever come out of my mouth.

Kaminari POV

"Kyo...."
"Yeah?"
"Don't lie to me."
"But-"
I cut her off, "Don't. Lie. To. Me."

She sighs and says "I'm seriously fine." While making the the most desperate "help me" face I have ever seen.

She's lying.... Hell, she's not even trying to hide it..... shit..... shit, shit, shit.... I knew this was bad......

I lean forward and tuck a few strands of hair behind her ear and whisper "Kyo, look at me...." My fingers slide down her jawline and gently grasp her chin, lifting her face and making her gaze meet mine.

She looks into my eyes with her deep purple irises, and my face starts heating up. Why am I blushing? This is just Jiro.... Why is my best friend making me blush...?

I notice her cheeks turning pink and her breath getting shaky. For some reason, my body just starts moving closer to her, and I can't stop it.

Jiro POV

I can't believe what's happening. I feel like I can't breathe. He's so close right now and I can't even move. He has me in a tight spot since my back is to the wall and my shoulder is pressed against my headboard. There's nowhere to go and no way for me to escape this.

My eyes flicker down to his lips for a moment and then back to his eyes. They're so close to mine, almost touching. I start to wonder what it would feel like to have his lips pressed against mine. My mind is running wild and my cheeks grow a deeper shade of pink. He's so close.... Fuck, this is driving me crazy.....

Kaminari POV

I notice her gaze descending to my lips and my entire face turns red. I don't understand what's happening or why I feel like this, but I know one thing is for certain......

I HAVE TO STOP THIS. I HAVE TO LEAVE.

My mind is screaming at me to pull away and leave, but my body just won't listen. My body so desperately wants to touch her and be close to her, and I don't know why.

This has to stop!!! I have to leave!!! PULL AWAY GOD DAMN IT!!! I'm starting to sweat a little. I don't know what's going to happen next if I don't pull away right now. This situation is getting out of hand.

I hear a sudden squeak escape Jiro's slightly parted lips, and it was just enough to snap me out of my trance. FUCKING MOVE DUMBASS!!! ITS NOW OR NEVER, SO GET THE HELL OUT!!!

I release her chin from my grasp and quickly pull away, trying to keep my breathing in check and not look like I just ran a fucking marathon.

"I-I have to go. I need to... c-close my fridge...."

Ah yes. Let's go close the fucking fridge. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING DUMBASS?!

And with that, I run to her door, unlock it, and sprint out.

Jiro POV

I'm just sitting on my bed, frozen in shock, and speechless. My face is bright red and my heart is pounding out of my chest. I have a million thoughts running through my mind right now, but one stood out far more than the others.

What. The Actual. FUCK. was. that.

TIMESKIP TO THE NEXT DAY

Kaminari POV

Jiro and I are on patrol together today with Fatgum (we switched hero agencies with Kirishima and Tamaki). There's an awkward silence between us and the tension in the air is almost painful.

I suddenly feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and get a bad feeling that something might happen. Fatgum suddenly yells "HEY KIDS GET DOWN!!!"

Hearing this, I instantly spring into action. I grab Jiro by her waist and throw myself to the ground, holding her tightly to my chest. I look up and see a small hole in the wall. A bullet hole. A villain tried to shoot us. But the worst part suddenly hits me-

It was aimed at Jiro.

My Jiro.

My best friend.

I am no longer scared or worried.

I. Am. Livid.

Narrator POV

Without a second thought, Kaminari rolled over, shielding her with his body.

"DENKI WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?!" She screams. He picks her up bridal style and carries her to some plastic trash cans.

"STAY THERE." He spoke in a deep, demanding voice. He runs back to the fight, leaving Jiro in shock. He yells at Fatgum "FATGUM GET BACK!!!"

Fatgum understands what's happening and runs behind a wall. Suddenly, there's a massive surge of electricity, and the villain is out cold.

Kaminari smirks and says "Fatgum, you can come out now!" Fatgum steps out from behind the wall, but immediately freezes and pales. Denki sees this and his smirk instantly fades "Fatgum? What's wron-"

That was when he saw it.

A second villain holding Jiro by her neck and pressing a gun into the side of her head........

....Shit.....
