A few weeks passed by since their little lunch at the pizza parlor, May now turning into June, and Chaewon found herself easily adapting to life in the countryside if it involved Yunjin. It was mostly attraction at first—who wouldn't be attracted to Yunjin—but they quickly developed some sort of friendship. Chaewon learned that there were different sides to Yunjin besides the sexy farmer image she had in her head.Chaewon stretched her arms as she stepped out into the back porch. Sakura was sitting in her rocking chair, reading a book with a glass of fresh lemonade in her hand. Her sister looked up when she noticed her, and Chaewon noticed she was trying to hold back a laugh. She just rolled her eyes. It'd been like this ever since Sakura found out Chaewon was a victim of Aegi's wrath. She never let it go and would always remind her and tease her about it. It was time to leave it up to god now, in Chaewon's opinion.
"Stop laughing at me." Chaewon pouted as she served herself a glass of lemonade from the pitcher. "I'll report you and Kazuha for attempted manslaughter."
"You're so dramatic."
"I almost died! Can't believe my own sister doesn't care that she almost lost me, her amazing and gorgeous older sister."
Sakura folded the corner of the page she was on and closed the book, setting it gently on her lap. "It's your fault you dropped the eggs."
Technically it was Yunjin's fault in Chaewon's opinion. Maybe if she had paid her a sliver of attention, Chaewon wouldn't have had to go through extreme measures to get it. She would never tell Sakura that though. It'd just make her seem desperate and crazy. She didn't want to give Sakura and Kazuha—because Sakura would certainly tell her wife—another reason to tease her.
"You and Kazuha still owe me for putting me through something traumatic," Chaewon said with a grin as she stirred the drink with her straw.
"We can pay for your therapy then." Sakura joked.
"That's a great idea!"
Next thing Sakura knew, she was being pulled along the main road by an excited Sana as she tried to keep up with the bounce in her sister's steps. What was the best therapy anyone could offer? Shopping of course! The punctures on her legs were mostly healed, so Chaewon concluded it was time for some new summer clothes. She was tired of wearing sweatpants or jeans in this hot weather just to hide them, and she decided it was time to invest in some more casual clothes. She recalled Yunjin pointing out her branded clothes, how she stood out. Chaewon just wanted to fit in if she was going to be staying here for the next few months.
This was also an excuse to spend time with Sakura. Her and her sister had rarely hung out together, just the two of them. And wasn't that the point of Chaewon's stay anyway? To spend time with her sister? It was a win-win situation in Chaewon's eyes. She got free clothes while being with Sakura at the same time.
The clothing shop Sakura led her to was one Chaewon somewhat recognized. The colorful wooden sign that read I'm Your Joy was the only thing that was kind of familiar. She probably walked by once or twice while she was still running errands for Sakura. The storefront was adorable. The edges of the building lined with rose bushes and the chair positioned near the door had a dog plushie that held a Welcome! sign.
Sakura pushed the door open, Chaewon following behind, and the soft cheerful tunes played in the store hit their ears. On one side, there were racks of clothes ranging from shorts to skirts to dresses and arrays of tops and T-shirts. On the other, there were a couple of racks filled with half-finished tops and other items, and a table with various types of fabrics scattered across it and a sewing machine. The inside was crowded, but neat at the same time.
