As I smoothed down my dress, I began to think about the course of Justin and I's relationship. For starters the fact that I have to hide it from the one person I should not have to hide it from is exhausting. I'm constantly making excuses for why I am late or for why I don't come home at all. Most of the time I just want to tell her, "I'm dating Justin, so what?" But I know there is also a part of me that is too chicken to do so. I wish she would just find out so I can be over with it. But if she finds out she'll probably get extremely mad so maybe it's best she doesn't find out. Yet she'll have to know eventually. What if Justin wanted to marry me?

I giggled thinking about Justin asking me to be his wife. Him marriage material? I don't quite think so. Justin asking me to be his wife is almost as comical as seeing pigs fly. Pigs flying is funny because they are so fat so like how would they fly gracefully? I laughed a little harder and then pouted in the mirror. I need to stay focused. I'm meeting Justin's family for goodness sakes!

I don't understand why I'm so nervous. They are just parents like any other person's parents. Yet, not really because they are Justin's parents. Surely someone who made such a perfect specimen as Justin has to be a little scary I'm sure. After a long sigh, I grabbed my purse and headed out of my bedroom, closing the door behind me.

"Kasey? Hey, I can't find my leopard panties that you bought me," Jace complained as she threw things around in the living room.

I blushed because I have those on right now. I bought them for her but she told me she hated them and I figured I needed to wear my womanly underwear ever since last night's little incident with the little monkey underwear. I shuddered, lost in the horror.

"It has to be around here somewhere!" I responded, heading for the front door, my hand on the handle.

"Where you going?" she asked, sticking her head up from behind the couch, her red hair wild around her face.

"Oh, I have a dinner function to attend about my log."

"Ooh, can I come? I would love to meet some rich and ambitious people." She smiled, standing up, eyes blazing with excitement.

"No!" I yelled. I cleared my throat, smiling. "I mean no you can't because it's invitation only. It's at the person's house there aren't enough seats at the dinner table. But next time, sure."

Cocking her head to the side, Jace narrowed her eyes, saying, "I think you're up to something and I swear to you, Kasey, I will find out."

"Um, okay..." I snorted and then I was out the door.

Justin exited his apartment at the exact time I did and matching grins spread across our faces. I never get tired of seeing him as if it were the first time I was ever seeing him.

"You ready for this?" Justin asked, pressing for the elevator.

I wrapped my arms around his waist and leaned my head up against his shoulder. "Yes I am."

"Good." He kissed the top of my head.

"I think you look really nice in plum, by the way," Justin appraised with one hand on the steering wheel and the other on my exposed left knee.

I bit my lip and looked to see him smiling while he drives. It's weird to think that my presence alone makes him somehow happy. I never thought that I could make someone so happy just by existing, yet I do every day when I'm with Justin.

I chose to wear a knee length plum dress with a faux fur black coat that stops at the waist. On my feet I have on classic black pumps, and my hair is curled to hang down my back. I kept my makeup simple and my bag tiny, carrying just the essentials.
