"Your father is looking for you with all his might, you know? He's really angry and wants you to come home." said a hooded man sitting on a bar stool
"You say that I will not return, this is my path, you have to verify it and to be precise, I have never had a home before now" replies (Name) playing with the straw of his drink next to the man.
The man sighed loudly: "(Name), oh (Name), you really are as hard-headed as him huh?"
Ace had noticed his right hand man's strange behaviors, not that she was ever that talkative and loud but she was quieter than usual since they left the last island.
They had been part of Whitebeard's crew for a while now.
He did nothing but sigh loudly at all times, her facial features were always tense with her eyebrows furrowed and her lips in a pout instead of her usual relaxed expression.
When someone called her name she tensed like a guitar string as if waiting for a reprimand.
Ace had enough by now so he decided to take her hand and go to the back of the ship.
"What's bothering you?" asks the freckled boy, leaning with his arms on the railing.
The girl took another sigh and instead leaned back against the wall and pulled her cap down over her eyes.
"Ace, do you remember when you told me about your father?" she replied with another question
"Mh? Well yes, how could I forget it?"
By now, late at night on the Spade pirate ship, there were two figures lying on the deck of the ship.
Both with their hands under their heads, their hats moving due to the wind and the sound of the waves.
"My father is Gold Roger" said the captain without looking at his companion
"Really?"
"Really"
The boy couldn't believe it: he only responded with 'really', no questions, no comments.
Why?
Maybe he'll abandon the crew tomorrow
"You... you won't say anything else?"
"Well, I can't hide the fact that I'm surprised but everyone has their skeletons in their closet, right? And after all, it's not that my father is better than yours."
"Afterwards you asked me who my father was, I never honored you with that answer. I thought I could hide who he was but from the last island we saw I know he is looking for me to take me on the 'good path'." the girl finished telling her story.
Ace was about to speak when the girl interrupted him before he even started.
"My father is Sakazuki Akainu, one of the three admirals of the fleet. The bastard is looking for me to finally become a marine even though I ran away from home."
"(Name)..." he turned to look at her, and then started speaking again
"I can't hide the fact that I'm surprised but everyone has their skeletons in their closet, right? And in the end, it's not that my father is better of yours."
The girl looked up at him with wide eyes remembering that phrase, Ace's smiling face with his hand on his signature hat, behind him was the clear sky and calm sea.
From that sight (Name)'s face, stained by a few small tears, was illuminated by the sun, she ran towards his now old captain and hugged him tightly.
"Ace..." she said into his chest
"(Name), you're not going anywhere, it's your captain's last order"
"Ace just...don't tell anyone, it's already been so hard to tell you and I - she made more deep sighs into the boy's chest - I don't know what could happen if I told the others"
"Don't worry, I respect your decision but trust me, Whitebeard would still want you here and so would everyone, they will definitely think like me"
The two remained still hugging until their stomachs growled with hunger.
"I think it's time you eat something, I don't want your death on my conscience because of my father" said the girl getting tired and starting to walk, now with her relaxed expression again
"HAHAHAHA YES LET'S GO" laughed the boy running towards her and almost jumping on (Name)'s shoulders
Curious eyes secretly looked at the young guys, smiling.
"You know that it's wrong to eavesdrop?" Izo asked with his arms crossed over his chest
"But they are so damn cute, Izo" said Thatch almost crying himself
"I confirm-yoi but now let's go back to dad he's waiting for us" said Marco walking away with the other two companions behind him
