"Hailey Taylor Prudence Matthews!" A familiar voice behind startles the poop out of me. I look behind and there stands Peyton giving me a death glare while standing akimbo. I'm not sure if her face is red because she's seething or because she's flustered from running.

"Morning to you too Peyton." I grin at her, then proceed to close my locker.

"Don't you 'morning' me. You weren't here yesterday, so you owe me an explanation." She points her index finger at me.

"Geez! It was just one day."

"Don't sass me young lady!" She says. "You have to explain where you and Tristan went."

"What makes you think I was with Tristan?" I pretend to be taken aback.

She gives me that look that shouts seriously?

"Okay, fine. Tell you after school. We'll go grab a coffee." I assure her.

"Deal. And don't think I'll forget about it." She narrows her eyes at me.

"I know you won't." I laugh.

"Good. Now let's get to class."

"You have two hours to complete the test. You may begin." The teacher tells us.

I quickly scan the question paper, calculating how much time I have for each question. This test seems easier than expected, and it's nothing I can't do. I fill in all the answers, while taking breaks in the process because two hours is just too long for this, and I look over to Tristan, who's sitting next to me and I find him burying his head in his arms.

Why's he always sleeping?

Finally, the time finishes and we all hand in our tests. Learners ask each other questions regarding the test to check who's answers were incorrect. I walk out of the class and I hear a trail of steps behind me. Jordan soon falls in step with me and I'm kind of disappointed because I mainly expected Tristan.

"How's my favorite ray of sunshine?" He grins cheerfully, making me glad that things aren't awkward between us.

"I don't remember being so bright." I say sarcastically, causing his grin to fall off.

"Wow, now you're just my ball of moon." He deadpans.

"That does not make any sense." I say.

"And yet, girls find me attractive." He retaliates.

"Okay."

"Anyway, I came to ask for a favor."

"Shoot."

"Come to my party on Saturday?"

"I don't know. . . I'll see." I say.

"Okay, that's cool." He looks down with a bit of disappointment. "See you later then."

"Okay."

"This day is so slow." I whine and throw myself on the seat. I don't bother buying lunch today because for some reason, my appetite ran off somewhere, and this is shocking since its me.

"What's wrong with you?" Peyton asks.

The whole group has already gathered around the lunch table, leaving only Tristan out of the picture. Chase and Kaitlyn seem to be arguing about something dumb and Luke's endlessly stuffing his face with fries. Jordan's eyes are glued to the screen in his hands, and Peyton seems to be the one left out.

"This day is too long." I groan.

"You said that already." She says.

"No I didn't."

"Yes you did."

"No, I didn't, but I did which actually means I did, but I still say I didn't although I know I did, so I'm still gonna continue saying I didn't." I say too quickly.

"You're bored aren't you?" Her question seems more like a statement.

"Glad you noticed." I mutter sarcastically.

"Maybe I can cure you're boredom." A voice I actually missed says behind me and he takes a seat beside me. I look at Tristan and smile genuinely, but he surprises me by placing a quick peck on my lips.

"Okay. . ." I start off, but Tristan's lips distract me again, but this time his lips capture mine for a longer time. His soft lips against mine cause my mind to go into overdrive, but sadly, he seperates our lips, and my lips suddenly feel lonely, cold and abandoned.

"Did that cure your boredom?" He grins.

"Let me think. . ." I pretend to think and I say, "Nope, still there."

"Okay, than maybe you need more--"

"No! No need for round three. Too much PDA." Luke cuts Tristan off. I can't believe Tristan actually kissed me in front of basically everyone. My cheeks turn blood red in embarrassment, and I look down to cover my flushed face.

"What just happened?" Kaitlyn asks. Everyone is staring at us, as if we're just confessed that we are having a baby.

"Are you two a. . . thing?" Chase is the second person to ask.

"Uhm. . ." I don't know what to say because Tristan never asked me out.

"Yes." Everyone stares at Tristan, even my eyes are fixed on him, and confidence oozes out of his answer, indirectly stating that he owns me.

A sharp high pitched squeal pulls everyone out of their trance, and we all follow Peyton's screams with our eyes.

"Yes! Finally." She exclaims. "All aboard, 'cause Tristley is about to leave the harbour." She jumps excitedly.

"Tristley?"

"Oh c'mon. It was bound to happen." She says as a matter-of-factly.

"Congrats guys." Kaitlyn says.

"Yeah. You finally got her bro." Surprisingly, Jordan is the one to say that, but a hint of sadness revealed itself.

"Yep, finally." Tristan agrees, slinging an arm around my shoulder.

Oh brother.
