The bell rang.
The bell rang and school was over. It was finally time. Okay I'm definitely hyper focusing in this wayyyy too much. But I can't seem to find anything else in the world to think about. Maybe that math homework, or even the fact that I had no clue where my parents were or when they were coming back.
Whatever, none of that matters. I am going with Eddie. Why the fuck did I agree to this, I'm awkward, and not even as pretty as so many other girls here.
There he is. Approaching me. Yep I'm gonna have to figure out words to say to him like a human.
Eddie: Hey, you ready?
Ashley: Yeah, I just need to drop this off at my locker, it's heavy and I'd rather not lug it around all evening.
Eddie: Ah no worries, I can just lug it around for you. Don't worry about it.He took the books out of my hand and carried them effortlessly in his hand down by his side.
Ashley: Oh it's okay you really don't ha—
Eddie: Don't worry about it. We'd better go before the parking lot is literal hell getting outta here.Eddie: So, did you have anything in mind that we could do?
Ashley: Well I know you had some plans already, but just to let you know, my parents are like completely MIA and I have the house to myself.
Eddie: You smoke?
Ashley: I haven't, but I'd be open to it.Eddie: Well no pressure. But maybe we could go to your place after. That okay?
Ashley: Perfect.
Eddie: Okay this is my ride.I stared wide-eyed.
Eddie: Okay I know. And no, I'm not a serial killer. I just have had my reasons for needing a big van. Don't don't involve kidnapping and murder.
We climbed up into the vehicle. It reeked of weed.Ashley: Wait so what exactly do you use it for?
Eddie: You know, stuff. Anyways it doesn't matter. Music?
He pointed to his glove box. I opened it and there was a good amount of cassette tapes. Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Metallica. I've never heard of that last one. But Black Sabbath is my favorite.Eddie started to drive. When he heard the music you had chosen a smirk formed in the corner of his mouth.
Eddie: You like Black Sabbath?
Ashley: One of my favorites. We enjoyed the music until we pulled up to a diner downtown. There were a few other people there, the after school rush was filing in.
We got seated and looked at the menu.
Eddie: Their double burger is my favorite. I could easily eat like 6 in one sitting.
Ashley: 6, really?
Eddie: I really could. Not today, but maybe one day I'll prove it to you.The thought that he plans on keeping me in his life, even as a friend made me blush uncontrollably.
Eddie: Oh what's that?
Ashley: Nothing, you're just being silly.
Eddie: Not as silly as you.
Ashley: What's that mean!?
He went up to a high pitched voice to mock me.
Eddie: Um, Ashley. I mean, yeah here's a pencil.
He twirled his hair.Ashley: Oh give me a break Munson.
Eddie smiled down at the menu.
Eddie: Okay so you know what you're getting? I'm paying so you don't gotta worry about it.
Ashley: Are you sure? I can pay for myself. That's what I usually do on dates.
Eddie: Oh we're in a date now?
Ashley: Oh no, I guess not, I'm sorry.Eddie: No I'm just messing with you. I really hope this is a date.
Ashley: Me too.
Eddie: I'm flattered to be on a date with the prettiest girl at Hawkins High.
Ashley: Give me a goddamn break. Have you seen the cheer squad? Chrissy even?
Eddie: Yeah no, this is my fifth year. I've seen all the pretty girls. I've never seen anyone like you Ashley.
