i wake up from my sleep, and check my phone. it's 11am. valarie is supposed to come meet my brothers at 12.

i read through my missed notifications, but really i'm just looking for a text from her.

she texted me at 8:49 am, then again at 10:20. i open the message

head over around 12?

chris?? helllooooo!!!

hey valarie!!! sorry i just woke up, but yeah 12 is still good :)

she texts back almost instantly.

i climb out of my bed, exit my room and head for the bathroom.

i take a brief shower then changed into my clean set of clothes.

i leave the bathroom, then head towards my room. it's quite the mess in here so i pick up all my dirty clothes and such.

i read the clock on my phone again,

she should be here soon!

i leave my bedroom once more to go find nick and matt, only to find nick in his room on his phone and matt still asleep.

i jump up and down on matt's bed in attempt to wake him up, until i hear a knock on the front door of our apartment.

i open the door, being met with a smiling valarie.

"hi chris!" she says in an excited tone.

"hey valarie! how are you?" i ask her and we head towards the couch in our living room.

"i'm good! your apartment is super cute!" she compliments.

"thanks! it's mostly nicks decorating, but i like to add my touches in if you can't tell" i say, pointing at my lovely collection of lyrical lemonade magnets scattered across our fridge doors.

"oh well of course, but where are your brothers?! i want to meet them!" she exclaims.

"NICK! MATT!" i shout

both of them open their bedroom doors in sync, then make an appearance in the living room.

"hi! i'm valarie!" she says as she waves to them both with a large smile on her face.

"hey! we've heard lots about you!" nick says as he makes his way closer to us, taking a seat next to me on the couch.

"yeah, lots." says matt in a groggy voice as he's rubbing his eyes.

"oh really??" valarie says before she gives me a light nudge with her shoulder.

"just a littleeee" i say in embarrassment, dragging it out.
