~Back home~

*I walked into Rudy's room*

Hey Rudy I need a big favor.

Rudy- "What is up sis?!"

I explained everything to him.

Rudy- "Wow, so the gift just skipped over me huh?"

"I guess you can put it that way... To be honest I do not like it, I am glad that I may be able to bring our family closure and others as well, but it is a lot."

Rudy- "True and you are so brave I do not think I could deal with that."

Rudy- "Why would dad not tell us they were family?"

I do not know, I am not even sure if he knows.

Rudy- "Well yes I can do that favor for you".

"Oh my gosh, thank you thank you thank you." *hugs*

Rudy- "Anything for you and the family, you guys better take that a*shole down. Bring our family and the others to justice!"

"I will."

I asked Rudy if he could book our flight and our motel. I had to figure out how we would get money to pay for food, taxis, and other necessities. If this is adulting then I want out. I will figure it out I always do...

~In Megan and Michaels's backyard (5:22 PM)~

"We have our flight and motel room thanks to Rudy, but we will need money."

Jackson- "Consider it done, my parents give me an allowance."

"Jackson look that is nice of you, but this is for me if anyone should be bringing money it should be m-"

Jackson- "No, I know you would do the same for me, for all of us. Please accept my support."

"Okay." *I smiled warmly*

Megan- "How are we going to leave without our parents calling the police and telling them that we are missing?!"

"That I am trying to figure out."

Michael- "How about we go 'camping' ."

"Michael I feel like I could kiss you?"

Michael- "What is stopping you?"

"The fact that we are besties!"

Michael- "sure..." *rolls his eyes*

~At the dinner table~

I cannot ask my mother if I could go "camping" I am still grounded and have been sneaking out my window for the past days. *ugh*

Today is Friday our "camping trip" will be Saturday and I do not know how long we will be there, but we have two weeks off of school". How am I going to hide the fact that I am not home from my mother? I am surprised she went hours without finding out I was not home.

"Mom, can I please go camping with my friends? Out of the whole school year that was the first time I got suspended not to mention she started it."

Maria- "Well I did some thinking and I am sorry for how I acted, it was not your fault and you were defending yourself. You can go on the trip as long as your brother goes."

Rudy- "Say wha-"

"Thank you, mom!"

Sam- " If my helper is going to be gone then who will help me everyday?"

Maria- "I will, since my babies will be gone, I can spend more time with my first one." *winks at dad*

I and Rudy- *ewww*

*We all laughed*

Rudy- "When is the trip?"

"Saturday, tomorrow."

Rudy- "Well we should make a store run first thing tomorrow morning."

"Okay".

~Saturday Morning (11:05 AM) In the store~

Rudy- "This store has everything we need!"

"Yeah, sorry for dragging you into this."

Rudy- "Do not be you are my little sister and besides I deserved this break from work."

"You are going to have to go to Connecticut with us, or our parents will get suspicious!"

Rudy- "Yeah, I know"...I am going to have to buy an extra plane ticket for myself."

"Hey, before we head home, can we make a stop somewhere very special?"

Rudy- "Yes."

Cousin, Mary, only stayed about thirty minutes from our town, and I had to do as my family asked, besides I would love to see her, but how was I to tell her who we were?

~At cousin's Mary's house~

We knocked at the door.

Rudy- "She is only thirty-eight, so she will understand."

"True."

*The door opened*

Mary Hamilton- "Can I help you two?"

"Hi, Mary my name is Selena, this is my brother, Rudy and we are your cousins."

Mary Hamilton- "Please do come in."

I explained to her that I found the family tree, but I could not tell her why I came to speak with her.

Mary Hamilton- "My aunt and uncle were already close to one hundred years of age when they got me, so they both passed away before I was even eighteen years of age. Their children nor grandson did not want anything to do with me or this house after their passings. The last time I spoke with them, they had moved to Dallas and moved on with their lives. They took every penny although they did not do a thing for their parents which is why they left me this lovely home; guilt."

"I am so pleased to see the both of you *she hugged us*. My husband is a general doctor, so he had to work today."

"I wish we could stay longer, but we have somewhere to be."

Mary Hamilton- "Come by anytime my husband is always gone, so I am usually bored, also take down my telephone number."

~At Jackson's house (2:03 PM)~

Jackson lived in a big house; his father was a drill sergeant, and his Mother was a flight attendant, so they were never really home. We all stayed the night at his house. We had to be at the airport early in the morning.

Looking back at my life back then I can say that I was a brave thirteen-year-old girl. I am so proud of little me. If thirteen-year-old me could see me now, she would probably say what the hell happened?! You are thirty years old, unmarried, had two failed situationships, but a dog mom of two. Not to mention killing it in a male-dominated career field, you guys will understand later. Enough about thirty-year-old me you will get to know her in another story.
