These are tips to help you get your story to stand out amongst the other entries.
Tip #1: Make a cover.
We aren't talking about just any cover. Make a cover that has a picture to represent what your story is about. Make sure that the title can be clearly read. For mobile users, try the cover creator app! It's great! For PC and Mac users, try paint or another editing program.
Tip #2: Don't be cliché.
For every fandom, there is a certain story line that xreader stories typically have.
Let's say there was a fandom about werewolfs that attack shopping malls at night. This fandoms cliché would be this:
The reader is in a mall at night reading about the werewolf attacks. Suddenly, the werewolfs crash in through the windows and attack the mall the reader was so helplessly walking around in. One werewolf decides to spare the reader. After that, they fall in love and everything is great.
That story line might not seem too bad, but imagine story after story after story having that same plot line. After a while, it gets boring, right?
The reason any Fanfiction is popular is because it's different and it's never been seen before! Try to put some spice in there! Make it different than all the rest!
Tip #3: Use correct grammar.
If you want readers to keep reading your story, use good grammar. It doesn't have to be perfect, but don't butcher it completely. Some of the best story lines are disregarded because the grammar isn't great. You don't want your readers to be able to notice it. It will turn them away. Try to read back through chapters before you publish them and look up grammar tips on Google if you have trouble.
Tip #4: Get your submission in early.
We can't do anything if you forget to submit. If it's past the deadline, you will have to wait until the next season comes.
Tip #5: Get people to notice you!
Vote and comment on other stories! This will get users to notice you and read your Fanfiction! The more readers you have, the more voters you could potentially gain.
Reminder: If a category does not receive at least three entries, voting will not take place for that category. Those entries will move on to the next season if nothing can be done to compromise.
