Bad Ideas

Sirius has taken part in James bad ideas more times than he wanted to admit. Often times they were funny plus Wormtail, Vixen and Moony usually partook as well. The thing about Prongs and his stupid idea's is when they get REAL stupid, the other three opt out but Sirius never does. He would never, ever, ever leave his best friend hanging. That loyalty now left him running out of the forbidden woods with James in tow. Both equally scratched up both from the sharp branches of the tree and the particularly un-kind troll they had messed with. Sirius took a quick peek back, relief filling his chest as he saw the edges of the trolls gnarly green foot retreat back into the forest. With the realization that they were back in the safety of Hogwarts light, Sirius slowed to a stop, bracing his shaky hands on his knees. James stopped just next to him, falling into the grass, his breathing more strained than Sirus's. With the understanding that they were no longer going to DIE, Sirius slapped James in the back of the head. The slightly taller boy looks back as his hand grabbed the back of his head, wide eyed and still breathing heavy.

"Are you out of your damn mind?" Sirius asked as his knees finally gave way and he fell into the grass. James stared at him for a few minutes before a slow smile spread onto his face and a laugh burst out. Sirius tried to keep a straight face but failed. The mischievous duo rolled around in the cool moonlight grass laughing.

"How the hell was I supposed to know that it would do that?" James said. "Vixen never said fireworks were that damn loud," Sirius looked at him and raised his eyebrows. "Okay maybe she did. BUT it was that bad?" Sirius's eyes blew wide as gave his best friend the most bewildered look he had ever had on his face. 

"You hit me with it!" Sirius snapped as he showed James the tear in his leather jacket, along with where the firework had caught his skin. He was pretty sure the only reason it didn't hurt so bad was because he had forgotten about it in the Troll Chase. Prongs wasn't in much better shape since he had slipped and hit his head causing a cut on his forehead along with the firework burning his right hand a little. The trees hadn't been to kind either cutting both of them up pretty good. 

"I didn't know it was going to rocket forward like that? Vixen called is Mortar but never actually explained what it did?"

"So you point it at ME!?!" Sirius asked. James opened his mouth but even he seemed confused at his own actions, so he slowly closed it. "You are a certified idiot James Potter," 

"You are both certified idiots," A female voice caught their attention. Lily stood just a few feet away. The duo quickly got to their feet and tried to straighten themselves out.  Lily walked over and grabbed James's chin inspecting the cut on his face intently, with a head shake she began to scold him. Sirius took a few steps back as he hated being on the receiving end of one of Lily's scoldings. A large hand intertwined its waying into Sirius before pulling him away from the two. Sirius looked at the figure and felt a surprise flip of his stomach when he saw it was Moony.  His finger pressed against his lips as he dragged Sirius away from the very upset Lily and a very red James. Sirius didn't know if it was embarrassment or the fact that Lily had grabbed his face so nonchalantly.  Once they were successfully back in the walls of Hogwarts Moony and Sirus moved effortlessly through the walls, dodging any teacher who happened to be awake. It was a bit more nerve racking since they didn't have the Marauder's Map with them but all the same the successfully made it back to the Gryffindor common room. Once they stood in the flickering fire light of the common room they finally spoke.

"Why did you do that?" Sirus asked. 

"Prongs stupid idea, Prong pays for said idea." Moony said. "Not that you were particularly smart in that scenario either," Remus ran his thumb over the back of Sirius's hand as he talked. "Are you okay?"
