A few days later...
Y/n pov:
Y/n: Huh... this is a good read.
Blake: I know, right? Thanks for coming out here with me Y/n.
For context, I came to the city to look in one of the local book stores. Only, I ended up bumping into Blake. After helping her up and making sure she wasn't injured, she mentioned she was going to the library next. Thing is, so was I. Next thing you know, we're thick as thieves bonding over our love for literature!
Y/n: D'aw, it's nothing Blake! 'Sides, you're pretty fun to hang out with.
Blake: Y-You... really think so?
Her eyes go wide and she turns to face me... is that a blush on her face?
Monika: 'Yeah, it is. I've noticed from your memories that you've actually turned quite a few heads without even realizing it.'
Y/n: 'I did what now?' Of course I do. Your sense of humor is brilliant, you're the perfect reading buddy, you love fantasy novels almost as much as I do, you're-
Blake: O-Ok, I get it! Sorry... Most people just either lump me into the emo bookworm archetype or only pay attention to me for my... "assets"...
She glances around and points out... quite a lot of people, mostly guys, staring at her rear. A single glare from me sends them packing though. I take off my cape and hand it to her.
Y/n: Here. It might be a bit big, but hopefully it'll help with that.
I help her pin it together and she snuggles into it with a blissful smile.
Blake: So warm... *Cough* S-sorry...
Y/n: Hehehe, it's fine! Besides, I don't need to worry about feeling cold. No nerves and all.
We continue walking and Blake suddenly stops, turning to face me with a serious expression.
Blake: Y/n.
Y/n: Yeah?
Blake: Listen. Jenny, myself and Yang have been talking since you fixed Yang's bike and... is there something bothering you? Like, mental health bothering you?
Y/n: Ok... Can we talk about this... somewhere quieter?
Blake nods her head and we go into a nearby cafe. We take a seat and I let out a sigh... Guess it's time I get it off my chest.
Y/n: Right, so do you already know about the whole Scrapnik Island thing?
Blake: Yes, Jenny told us. Why?
That makes it easier to explain.
Y/n: Ok... that coupled with my three hundred year solitary confinement has caused... SOME damage to my mental stability. All of it can be summed up in one simple question. Why? Why was I the only survivor? That question soon led to another. And then another. I began asking myself if the deaths of all the Scrapniks could've been avoided if I just tried harder... If I could've been the protector they needed instead of a weak excuse for a time-stall. What if the attack on the Scrambled Egg Carrier was inadvertently caused by me? Maybe... Maybe if I wasn't such a useless pile of spare parts... We could've actually had our happy ending-
She grabs my right hand with both of hers and looks straight into my eye with a mix of anger and even more concern.
Blake: Don't say that about yourself! You're not useless, you're not a pile of spare parts and you tried as hard as you could! Y/n you're so strong, kind, gentle, sweet. None of them would want you to blame yourself for what happened...
