I followed him as quietly as I knew how, and I hid behind trees as I went. He was in quite a hurry I noted, and I was happy I was in shape so it was easy to keep up. We ran through the forest for a good mile before I saw street lights. Suddenly Jeff cut straight through the tree line into the street. I hung back in the tree line because there was less cover for me on the street. I recognized this street. Blue Hill Lane, and I felt myself panic. Lynn I thought. Her house was the last house on the right. Jeff looked as though he was about to stop at the house right before Lynn's. Thank God I thought. Then He looked all around his surroundings and I sucked further behind the thick trunk of the tree I was hiding behind. Then he sprinted to Lynn's house and broke her window. He jumped through and the last thing I heard was an awful scream that had dozens of black birds flying over my head. My heart dropped, and my vision blurred almost instantly. I fell to the ground and let my salty tears try and wash away what I had just witnessed. I don't know how long I laid there until I felt arms around me. I looked up into Jeff's eyes. "That's what happens when you follow me Lucy." he said, and he wiped away my tears. He carried me back to his cabin while I hung limply in his arms. I was heart broken, but my mission was accomplished, I knew how to get back home. When we got in the door of Jeff's apartment he kissed me softly, and I knew that it meant I'm sorry. When he pulled back I kissed him. Our kisses were sweet. I must be crazy I thought. And as we were kissing he carried me down the hallway into the room we'd been staying in. He set me on the bed and took off his bloody hoodie and my bloody sweater. And he leaned over me and kissed me again. I relaxed into him and put my fingers in his hair. He ran his fingers down my spine and I shivered. I put my hand against his chest and I felt his heart beating fast. "Why didn't you kill me?" I whispered against his lips in between kisses.
