Lucy told me that she wanted to die. This strong girl that had tried never to cry every time I had attempted to kill her. She beat me in every fight. I couldn't make myself kill her. I looked into her eyes and realized that the light had indeed left them. She was no longer strong. I felt my heart pound in my ears and I felt my arms tighten around her. She made me blood thirsty; however, I knew I couldn't kill her. I also knew I couldn't escape this feeling. She almost called me honey and she blushed. It reminded me of being younger and my mother calling me in for dinner. She made me feel like home. I wasn't really listening to her. I was focusing on the strange feelings that we're overwhelming me after so many years of feeling nothing at all. I think I answered her question. Then I held her tight and whispered, "I love you."
