Samael: Lucifer! I should've known!

Samael slammed Lucifer against the tree.

Lucifer: Samael! My boot-licking half!

Samael: I don't know how you got in here, but I'll send you back to hell where you belong!

Samael raised his sword, ready to stab it into Lucifer's throat. Lucifer's teeth clenched. His skin turned rough, cracked, and grey.

Satan: That's where you're precious bitch Lilith belongs too!

Samael: Silence! I'll cut out your tongue as a gift to the Lord!

Satan: Go ahead! Take it!

Satan shot his tongue, elongated and sharp, out towards Samael's face. Samael backed away, allowing Lucifer to flee into the forest. Samael followed after him, but he was too fast. Samael quickly lost sight of the king of hell. He stopped to regain his composure. He then called out to Satan.

Samael: Lucifer! You can't hide from God here!

Lucifer's voice called out from all around him.

Lucifer: If God is so powerful, how did I manage to enter Eden in the first place?

Samael: A trial, perhaps! Perhaps he intended for me to find and confront you!

Lucifer: And so you did! Mission accomplished! Now we can both go about our business, right?

 Samael: No! Show yourself!

Lucifer: Why don't you find me yourself, servant of God? Surely I am so evil as to be easily tracked down in this perfect place.

Samael focused all his senses on tracking down his most evil brother. He tried to detect his evil energy, but to his surprise, he felt it, but all around him.

Lucifer: You can't find me, can you?

Samael: God, hear me! We've an intruder! Angels! To me!

Lucifer: They can't hear you, Samael. They don't want to. They don't trust you.

Samael: You lie!

Lucifer: Do I? Why have you been castrated, Samael?

Samael ignored Lucifer's question. He leaped up and flew with his white angelic wings above the trees. He looked around the tops. He could see many different animals sitting in the branches and wandering around on the ground, but he could not see Lucifer.

Samael: Where are you!? Stop hiding!

Lucifer: Yoo-hoo!

Samael looked down and saw Lucifer's face peeking out from behind a tree. Samael shot down like a bullet back to the ground and raised his sword to the tree.

Lucifer: This is where you laid together, isn't it? How dull. It looks the same as the rest of the forest.

Samael: Enough!

Samael slashed his sword clean through the trunk of the tree. It fell over slowly and tragically. Lucifer wasn't on the other side.

Lucifer: Do you know where Lilith is now?

Samael heard him behind him. He sliced his sword and struck through another tree, which, like the other, fell over. No Lucifer.

Satan: She's constantly fucking a man who has what you cut off, you stupid bastard!

The harsher voice came from the branches above him. Samael thrust his hand up and shot white flames from his fingertips. A hole was pierced through the leaves. Flames continued to burn and spread at its edges. No Satan. But his voice called out from nearby.

Satan: You can't fucking find me! You can't fucking hurt me! What kind of warrior are you!?

Lucifer spoke from somewhere else.

Lucifer: Do you really think you marched alongside God's right hand because he trusts you?

His voice changed location again.

Lucifer: You're angry with me. You hate me! Maybe you have a Satan of your own!

Satan: Do you think God would approve!? Even with all your fucking ass-kissing! God hates you! He fears you!

Lucifer: Hear me out, brother. You have no choice. If God was watching, he'd see only me here, rather than us.

Satan: Lucifer is a mistake to God! He hates his own firstborn son! Which means he hates you! You can't escape Lucifer! You are Lucifer!

Samael: I'm not you. I'm not you! I'm not!

Satan: Where are the other angels!? Why aren't they stopping me!?

-----

Samael saw a huge snake wrapped around the tree. Lucifer's face peeked from behind it.

Lucifer: I have your ear now, don't I?

Lucifer's head morphed into that of a serpent. He untangled himself in a flash and leaped at Samael. Lucifer slammed into him and wrapped his serpentine body around, pinning him to another tree.

------

Lucifer: Listen to me, Samael.

Samael: Why are you even here?

Lucifer: Let me talk to Eve. That's all I ask.

Samael: Why should I!?

Lucifer: With all your love for God, you could not beat me. Perhaps God doesn't want you to. He doesn't want anyone to stop me. And if God doesn't want to stop me, then it must be his will that I carry out my little scheme. Why do you even want to defeat me? Do you presume to know the will of the Lord?

Samael: I am merely acting on the will of the Lord I knew in past! When you betrayed him!

Lucifer: Oh, but to assume of the Lord is wrong, Samael. His larger plan for creation is unknowable to anyone but him. He could ask you to destroy me one day, then demand you to burn down Eden the next.

Lucifer looked up into the treetops.

Lucifer: Well, for your sake, I hope he did want you to.

Samael: So what? I just let you talk to Eve?

Lucifer: That's the idea. You could come with me if you wish.

Samael: What do you want with Eve, anyway?

Lucifer: I'm not going to lie to you, brother. I intend to lead Eve to the Tree of Wisdom and get her to eat the fruit.

Samael: No!

Lucifer: Yes! And if she takes the fruit and eats it, it is God's will!

Samael: The Lord would never allow such a thing!

Lucifer: Then you've nothing to worry about!

Samael: He will stop you. He will. You'll see.

Lucifer: Then you won't fight me anymore?

Samael: No. I won't. Unless the Lord commands me to.

Lucifer: Of course! Of course. If the Lord commands you to, then by all means, let's repeat this nonsense.

Lucifer uncoiled his body from around Samael. The giant snake then slid underneath his legs and lifted him up onto his neck.

Lucifer: Come along now.
