Dawn of the Cyclone

CHPT • XX •

As soon as morning broke, Cyclone woke up after hearing Dayton whimpering in pain next to him.

- Dayton? Love, what is it? - he asked worriedly.

- It hurts. My pelvis hurts. I can't stand up because of the pain. -she sobbed while tears were rolling down her cheeks.

- I'm taking you to the hospital.

He jumped out of bed, dressed first himself and then Dayton and immediately rushed to the hospital. Dayton was writhing in pain and Cyclone was worried that something was really wrong. As soon as they arrived at the Naval Medical Center, the doctors took her and took her for tests. Cyclone sat in the waiting room as many soldiers and marines greeted him as they all knew who he was. He waited and waited, and the hours were as long as years.
His cell phone rang and he saw Maverick's call.

- Maverick.

-Admiral, I wanted to ask if Dawn would be joining us for the meeting tomorrow. I would like to bring her something to make her comfortable.- Maverick asked.

- I'm not sure, Maverick. Dawn...we're in the hospital. She suffers great and intense pain. They took her for tests and I don't know anything.

- Oh God. Cyclone, do you need anything? Should I tell Warlock?

- No need, really. I will let you know in a message what the doctors said. - Cyclone said and ended the call. He nervously paced the corridor until he was stopped by a young surgeon. It was Mina, the dark-skinned girl that Dayton often mentioned. Apparently, Mina's uncle saved Dayton's life when she was wounded in Afghanistan.

-Admiral Simpson, Dayton will remain in the hospital for observation. Her nerve is pinched, which is under inflammation and if she does not stay in the hospital, it can result in paralysis of the legs. - Mina explained, showing him the diagram on the hospital tablet.

- Can I see her? Is she still in pain?

- You can see her, but she is sedated. She suffered extremely severe pain. I'll take you to her room.

Mina escorted Cyclone to the room and he immediately saw Dayton asleep on the hospital bed connected to an IV. He walked over to her and tucked a lock of  hair behind her ear. He was only thinking about how this nerve inflammation could have happened. He thought it was his fault because he wanted to make love to her. His cell phone vibrates.

What's the condition of dayton? Maverick told me. We are waiting for your answer.

Cyclone: Dayton is sedated. Her nerve was inflamed and then pinched. She has to stay in the hospital to avoid paralysis of her legs.

Warlock: I hope it's okay. Should I cancel meetings?

Cyclone: I would appreciate it. I'll let you know everything.

He put his cell phone on the bedside table and took Dayton's palm. The fresh scars were still pink and visible. He knew she didn't like them. He was startled by her stirring.

- Dawn? Honey, you're fine. They gave you something to relieve the pain.

- Why did it hurt? Why am I in the hospital again? - Dayton was trying to hold back her tears.

- Your nerve is inflamed. You have to be in the hospital to avoid damage and paralysis. Mina explained everything to me.

- Will you be with me? Please. - she begged him.
