Chapter 8:
I couldn't stop thinking about Ginny as I walked to Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
She had fallen behind the class as Professor Ronan led us outside and I slowed my pace to stay behind her. As she approached the doors leading outside, I did genuinely want to open the door for her-- at first-- but when I cast Accio I accidentally caught her robe. I ceased immediately but a voice crept into my head asking me why I had stopped. When I realized what I could do with such a simple spell, I couldn't stop myself. With a flick of my wand, I pulled my little gingersnap directly into my arms. Her warmth seeped through me and I wanted to drink up every ounce of it like a cup of hot tea on a cold winter's day. I never wanted to let go.
After a moment she looked up at me. Realizing what had happened and who was behind it, red spread across her face and I saw that same fire in her eyes from earlier that morning.
What I would give to grab her by the hair and devour her right here and now. I would move that fire from her eyes to between her thighs in less than a second.
My daydream was quickly interrupted when she shoved against me and demanded I release her.
Feisty. She really is going to make this hard for me.
I knew I was seriously pushing my luck with her, but I couldn't help it. If I pushed much further though-- I could end up in the headmaster's office being reprimanded for harassment. So, I teased her for a few moments more before relinquishing my grip on her and striding outside to catch up with the class. The stunned look on her face was gold.
The remainder of class was normal. Ginny held her own against Natty who was the best in Charms class by far. I went up against Ominis, who had clearly cheated during our game of Summoners Court. How else could a blind man beat a seeing one at a game that literally required you to see the object you were moving? I was totally gypped out of my rightful victory. At least my loss had some positive outcome-- I noticed Ginny laughing amongst the other spectators. Her laughter was like music to my ears and helped to soften the blow of my loss.
As Ominis and I arrived at the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, my mind came back to the present. This was my favorite class by far and though it didn't teach me all the spells I wanted to know, it was still worthy of my attention. Making our way over to grab a seat, I overheard Leander Prewett talking with a few other students.
"Have you seen the new fifth-year? Quite a looker that one is."
Immediately, I felt anger burn inside my chest. I could feel the red climbing up my face and my heart began pounding.
That. Fucking. Prick.
I clenched my fists and turned in his direction but a hand stopped me.
Ominis had somehow reached out and grabbed my arm and sharply whispered, "Sebastian you can't start a fight with everyone that says something you dislike."
The hell I can't.
Attempting to control my emotions for Ominis' sake, I stayed where I was, breathing deeply-- continuing to listen to their conversation.
"For a new witch, she's an incredibly fast learner! Did you see how well she stood up against Natty during Professor Ronan's Accio review session? Unbelievable!" the nasally voice of Everett Clopton wavered, clearly uncomfortable with the direction Leander was taking things.
At least someone at this school is respectable.
Dragging the conversation back to its disgusting origins, Leander haughtily snorted, "Yeah yeah she was fine-- but, good witch or not, all I'm saying is that she'll be touring my castle one way or another."
