The next morning, Marielle woke Percy up early, before the sun had even breached the horizon. "Go get Piper. We need to hurry, before the other kids wake."
Percy groaned, rolling out of his bed. "Bloody hell. Why did you have to wake me up so early?"
"Do you want to be suffocated by other wizards, or do you want to get your first wand?" She snapped. "And watch your mouth. Hurry up now!" She left the room.
Percy sighed and got dressed. He put on his blue jacket, blue jeans and black converse before putting a black beanie over his messy hair. Silently, he crept downstairs, past closed bedroom doors, some shaking with the snoring of kids, others silent. He got to the main floor and slipped outside. He didn't even get two blocks down the street before he saw Piper. She was walking towards him hurriedly, her hair braided down her back. She looked annoyed and tired. Her multicolored eyes shifted like a kaleidoscope. They'd been friend for five years, but Percy still wasn't sure what color her eyes were.
He stopped walking as she reached him. "You alright, Pipes?"
"No. I called my dad, and his secretary told me that he said that I needed to butt out and ignore the letter." She scoffed, Percy opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off with a raised hand. "Don't even ask. Obviously I'm not going to ignore it."
"Obviously. You ready to go? Marielle wants to leave before the other kids wake up." Piper nodded and they turned to head back to the orphanage. A chill ran down Percy's spine, and he glanced over his shoulder, feeling uneasy. His feet came to a stop,
"Percy? You coming?" He turned quickly to Piper, and nodded, jogging to catch up with her.

"London? We're going all the way to London? Why?" Piper frowned. Marielle had them outside and was explaining to them where they were going, and why.
"There's a pub there, The Leaky Cauldron-"
"We're 11, we can't go into a pub-"
"Don't you think I know that, Perseus!?" Marielle sighed. "Behind The Leaky Cauldron is a passageway to Diagon Alley. Now, no more questions. The Knight Bus is almost here."
"The what-?"
Percy cut off as a tall, three story bus suddenly appeared, with a sound like a rubber band snapping. It was purple, and a man stepped off the bus to let them on, taking three tickets from Marielle. "The Leaky Cauldron, eh? Yeh hear that Ern? We got two new Wizards here. Nice to meet you." He smiled broadly at Percy and Piper, but his smile grew when he saw Marielle. "Ah, Mari, been a while. How you doin'?"
"Good. Sorry to rush, but we need to hurry and get their supplies for Hogwarts."
"I understand. We'll let you off shortly." Marielle led Percy and Piper down the bus aisle, in between small tables and dining patrons. They sat on the second level of the bus, and Marielle sat next to a window, silent, not speaking to Piper and Percy, leaving them to chatter amongst themselves.
"Why do you think we have to go all the way to London for this? Surely there's a different way to get to this... Diagon Alley place..." Piper looked uneasy.
"Why?"
"My dad's in London. I don't know exactly where, but, do you think their is any likely hood of us running into him?"
"Well, I'm guessing that we won't be, ya know, actually in London for longer than a few minu-" He almost screamed as the bus shot forward. He felt like his face was going to be ripped off. Piper was laughing, almost hysterically, when the bus came to a sudden halt, catapulting Percy forward. Piper managed to keep herself in her seat, but she was shot into a fit of giggles. "Ow..." Percy rubbed his forehead, getting back into his seat. Moments later, another snap echoed, and Percy barely kept himself from falling backwards. Piper was laughing so hard still, that she did actually fall out of her chair. It even made Marielle laugh, and that wasn't exactly an easy thing to do.
