They just stood there, like cavemen. Mouths wide open, shoulders drooped over their chests. Larry was looking at the muffins, brilliantly displayed in front of him to tempt those peering through the glass pane.

“I’d get the blueberry.” Eliza blurted out, her hands clasped over her mouth.

Larry turned around, looking at the two girls beaming at him, shaking with excitement.

“Thanks” he replied.

Shannen couldn’t contain herself any longer.

“Oh my God, we’re big fans of you Larry, sorry but could we have a photo, if you’re busy that’s fine but it would mean the world to us” she screeched.

“No, yeah, that’s fine, it’s always lovely to meet fans.” He replied.

Larry placed his coffee on the counter whilst Shannen pulled out her iPod. She shoved it in the face of a short man, with greying hair and a fat nose. Eliza watched her.

A scream echoed down the shop so loud that everyone there had thought someone had been stabbed. The scream came from Eliza.

Shannen had handed her iPod to someone who she didn’t even look at, at first. But then, at second glance. She saw him.

The double doors swung open and the trolley carrying Shannen was closely followed by another trolley, carrying Eliza. The hospital was quiet. Today wasn’t really the day that people would go out and get injured. People did that on sunny days.

The trolleys were put next to each other on ward 22, floor 1.

Eliza stirred in her bed as people stood over them, taking notes, checking pulse rates, which were extremely high.

Two men walked into the ward, not doctors. The first was Laurence Rickard and the second, the man who  Shannen had handed her iPod to, which he was still clutching in his small hands.

They got over to the beds and the small man said with a tone of sass in his voice.

“Excuse me, um hello.”

This voice seemed to be familiar with the girls as their eyes shot open in synchronised matter. They sat up, coming out of their drowsy state.

They were conscious for about 3 seconds until they both saw that small man again.

That small man, who was called Martin Freeman.
