Hayden walked out through the revolving door of his office building. His head was literally buzzing with a lots of voices.

He was so fixated on his thoughts that he almost walked straight into someone. "Sorry" he looked up with an apologetic face as he adjusted his glasses, only to immediately let out an annoyed groan.

"Hayden" William said in a low voice as he held the other man at arm's length.

"What are you doing here?" Hayden sounded so exhausted as he pinched the skin of his forehead.

"Can we... Please sit down and talk?" William looked around, wondering if someone spotted him.

"Right here? On this ground?"

"Hayden, stop joking around and come with me" William grabbed his wrist and started to walk ahead, dragging him along with him. He just hated the fact that a fully grown man could be just as intolerant as a toddler.

"I never agreed to go anywhere with you!" Hayden said, his voice a little raised as he stumbled behind William. He was gone unanswered and he had no choice but to go wherever he took him.

William walked upto his car and opening the door to the back seat, he almost threw Hayden into his car.

"Hey!" Hayden protested at the act, rubbing his head. "Are you crazy or what?!"

William spoke not a word and instead, he just got in the driving seat and started the engine. Speaking seemed like a weary job to him right at the moment.

The both of them spoke nothing for a few minutes. The drive was unbearably silent. The fact that the both of them kept staring at each other occassionally through the rear glass only added to the awkwardness of the situation.

"Are you not gonna tell me where we are going?" Hayden finally asked, when he found the activity of staring down at his laps too boring.

"I dunno. I'm just driving"

Hayden rolled his eyes as far back as he could.

Really?!

William gradually applied the brakes and stopped the car to the side of the road.

It was an empty road ahead with an endless field on both sides.

Did he just drive us into the neighboring town?!

Hayden looked up and saw William seated facing him.

"Look, about yesterday. I'm sorry if that made you feel weird. But please, can we just talk it out? I'd really like to get to know you better" William's eyes held an expression that made Hayden want to just lean in and kiss him. But no, this wasn't the right time.

Hayden heaved a sigh and shook his head. "Don't be sorry, Will. It's not like I didn't like it. It's just that... I thought we were taking things a little too far. I mean, we could use a little time and take it slow, right?"

William pursed his lips. "Yeah, sure. I could do that, yeah"

Hayden just nodded, expecting William to say something.

"So,... Are we even?"

"Guess we are" Hayden nodded again.

William couldn't help the smile from creeping up his face. "Okay! Well,... Uh, since we are here anyway, would you like to go somewhere? I know of a nice, quiet place"

Hayden grinned. "Like a date?"

"Like a date".

"Sure, why not?"

William's face was plastered with the widest grin as he turned around on his seat and started his engine for yet another ride.

This time, the ride wasn't silent for their own voices were accompanied by a nice, pleasing country music.
