Chapter 12

It was unusually hot in Stargazer City so cleo decided to climb up onto the flat roof of the main hall and lie in the sun.

Whilst listening to the soldiers training she noticed the distinct sound of hooves approaching the base.

As she lay there dozing, soaking up the sun's rays the sound grew closer eventually arriving at the base entrance, thinking it was probably just some palace guards here to see Charlie she drifted off to sleep.

Cleo was awoken by the sound of Jax calling her name, she slowly opened her eyes and stood up, cleo made her way to the edge of the roof.

"What is it? I'm trying to sle---"

cleos words were cut short when her gaze rested on a familiar face.

"Harada!!"

cleo shouted as she jumped down from the roof, she ran towards him and threw her arms around him hugging him tightly, he returned her embrace, lifting her of the ground and spinning her round.

"It's been too long little lady, how are you?"

"I'm good Harada, however a lot has happened in the years since I last saw you"

"Are the twins here?, in your last letter you said the three of you were living here now and after seeing the picture of them you sent I was hoping to meet them at last"

cleos voice caught in her throat and she was unable to answer him neither could she stop the torrent of tears that started to fall down her cheeks.

"I'll take you to them if you would like to follow me"

Jax to the rescue yet again, cleo could only watch as Jax led Harada towards the cemetery.

It was almost dinner time when they returned to base, Harada walked over to cleo and wrapped her in a strong embrace, his scent bringing back so many fond memories, noticing Jax staring daggers at Haradas back cleo slowly pulled away from him.

"I am so very sorry for your loss little lady, even more so knowing I am here to add to your sorrow. I travelled here to seek your aid"

Those words rendered cleo speechless yet again; the thought of this powerful man needing her help terrified her.

"Perhaps we should continue this discussion in my office"

Everyone agreed with Charlie and so they followed him to his office.

Harada then explained that Dracon's neighbouring town Darvale was ruled over by a man named Lord Shin and that Lord Yuki had been in talks with him pertaining to Lord Shin marrying the Lady Jade and thus uniting the two town's forces.

Lord Yuki had refused the proposal and Lord Shin had declared war on Dracon.

During the battle Lord Yuki had been mortally wounded,and Lord Shin's forces had made it impossible for Harada and his men to reach Lord Yuki.

Lord Shin had then killed him and fled back to Darvale taking the Lady Jade with him.

Once Harada had finished speaking he was shown to a room for the night on the promise of being given a decision by the morning.

The following morning everyone was gathered in Charlie's office once again to find out if they would be giving Harada the aid he needed.

"I am truly sorry for your unfortunate situation Harada however I regret to inform you that we are at this time unable to offer you any assistance"

Harada nodded in acceptance but cleo could not let this go.

"Father why?"

"Lord Wilson is acquainted with this Lord Shin and has expressly forbidden any interference in this matter"
