"Marie! Wait up!" Riku yelled as he ran after me. I slipped on a patch of ice in the road and fell. A car slid to a stop and a man got out. He seemed...... familiar..... I tried to put a name to him but was unsuccessful.
He smiled and helped me up.
"Are you okay?" He asked. I studied his face closely and nodded.
Why does he look so familiar?........., I thought.
"Mari!" Riku said as he caught up. I didnt break my stare with the man.
"M-Marie?..." the man stuttered. I looked at him and stumbled backwards. A scream climbed up my throat, but didnt escape. I knew him!!
"D-Dad!" I yelped. I hid behind Riku with tears in my eyes. Riku put his arms up between my father and I. My heart pounded and I felt faint.
"Marie! You're mother and I have been looking everywhere for you." Dad said.
In that moment, every bad thing that had happened at home, came rushing into my head.
