I rang the bell to Sora's house. I had to stand on my tiptoes to reach. Sora's mom answered.
"Hey, guys. Come on in, out of the snow. Sora's in his room." She said, inviting us in. Riku nodded and nudged me inside. Sora's mom helped me get my jacket off and hung it up on the coat rack in the corner.
Thanks, I wrote. She nodded.
"Come on." Riku said, holding out his hand. I took his hand and we walked up to Sora's room. I stopped when I heard crying.
"R-Riku?..." I whispered. He looked at me.
"We've got to..." He said. I nodded and looked down. He knocked on the bedroom door door. "Sora?" He called.
The crying stopped as the door opened. Red, puffy eyed Sora stood there with tears running down his face. I looked behind him and saw Katie, his girlfriend, sitting on his bed. She must have snuck in the window because I hadn't seen her coat. Her eyes were red and puffy from crying too. Chelsea was like a sister to her, and probably would be someday.
We walked into his room and I shut the door behind me. Sora was still in his pajamas. He sat on the bed with Katie, Riku sat at the desk, and I sat on the floor next to the desk. I was next to Riku and a window. I felt safe. Nobody would get me if Riku was around.
