CHAPTER ONE
"FIELD TRIP GONE WRONG"

She pulled the elastic from her hair once again with an agitated huff as Percy sat down across from her at the lunch table, Grover to his left trying to stop a smile from spreading across his face at the girl's failure.

"Bad hair day?" Percy asked with a chuckle

"Bad hair week." the brunette girl said, running her hands through her shoulder length brown hair, making it look presentable and getting rid of the stiff ponytail shape before leaning resting her arms on the table, her sweater sleeves pressing against her skin.

"You're not eating lunch?"Grover asked as he and Percy pulled their lunches from their bags.

She pushed her lips into a line "Big breakfast?" She said, shrugging her shoulders, earning a glare from Grover. She rolled her eyes and pulled a granola bar from the front pocket of her bag.

"Did you get the permission slip for tomorrow's field trip, signed?" Percy asked

"We have a field trip tomorrow?" She asked, mouth half full.

Percy deadpanned "Yeah, to the museum?" She raised an eyebrow and pulled her bag that sat on the chair beside her into her lap. She rummaged through it pulling out different papers, leaving them on the table, hearing Grover sigh.

"Ha! Found it!" She said pulling the crumpled paper from the bottom of her bag, flattening it out on the table, watching Grover stack the rest of crumpled papers she left all over the table. "We do have a field trip tomorrow huh?"she said with a small smile, making Percy roll his eyes. She grabs a pen from the side pocket, pulling the cap off with her teeth, filling in her name and the date before going to fill in her brother's name.

"You're going to forge his signature?" The blonde asked

"Yeah?" She said, taking the pen cap from her lips.

"Won't Mr Brunner notice?" Percy asked

"No, Toby hasn't signed a single paper this school has given me. They don't know his real signature." She hummed, filling in the boy's name before proudly dotting the I. Folding it back up, shoving it in the smaller pocket, before putting the rest of her papers back in her bag. "And Plus, Toby is leaving to go visit back home tonight anyway." She said looking at Grover. "I should go." She said standing up "I have some homework I need to catch up on. I'll see you later" She said, pulling her bag over her shoulder before starting to walk away.

"I still don't understand why she hangs out with them. They're such losers. I mean, he sees imaginary things and the other well, he's just weird-" She overheard Nancy Bobofit say from the table she just walked past. The girl stopped in her tracks, turning on her heels walking, harshly placing her hands down on the end of the table.

"What was that Nanc? I couldn't quite hear you." she sneered to the red haired girl. Nancy didn't say anything back, just kept a straight look on her face.

The brunette raised an eyebrow. "That's what I thought." She smiled falsely before pushing off the table, looking over her shoulder at her two friends, who smiled at her, she smiled back with a nod before walking away.

Hadiya stood looking up at the Statue of Poseidon in the museum, her clipboard and pen tucked under her arm, the light blue matching with every other student from Yancy academy.

"What you see here, they are not fictions." Mr Brunner explains "They are not fantasies. What you see here are the truest and deepest parts of yourselves. Friends. . . The gods. . . the monsters, the hero's you see here in this room are reminders of what we are capable of. Now on your worksheets, I want you to choose one of the subjects you see here and describe it, not just how it looks but how it makes you feel." He said lastly before clapping his hands, pulling Hadiya from her daydreams.
