hey walked through a path in the woods. Annabeth leading, Hadiya walking behind, talking to Grover about Satyrs and the path they were on while Zenon walked next to Percy in the back, kicking the rocks under his feet, looking around at the ruffling in the trees. He looked over at Percy, his eyes staring forward, him caught in his own head, his finger drumming against the shoe box in his hands that he carried.

"Why don't you just wear the shoes?" Zenon asked grabbing Percy attention

"What?" The blonde asked

"Instead of carrying the box around, why don't you just wear the shoes?"

"Because what if they suddenly just-like-take off?" Percy asked

"Are you afraid of heights?" Zenon asked, sticking his hands in his sweatshirt pockets.

".....Kinda" Percy shrugged

"Really?"

"Everybodies afraid of something."

"I'm not." Zenon smirked

"Nothing? Not heights? The Dark? Monsters?" Percy chuckled at the last part of his sentence

"Nope, Nope and Nope" Zenon shrugged

Percy scoffed, "So you're telling me you could stand at the edge of a cliff and look over and be perfectly fine?"

"As long as I know i'm not going to fall to my death and die, yeah-"

"See, you're scared of falling and dying!" Percy pointed

"No, I just don't want to fall and die, there's a difference." Zenon said, raising an eyebrow making Percy huff in defeat.

"Guys? If we stay out here in the middle of nowhere wont it be harder to find a phone?" the blonde asked, stearing away for the battle he was losing against Zenon.

"Why do we need a phone?" Annabeth asked over her shoulder

"So we can call Camp?" He said "T-To get help?"

"We don't need help. We're fine" Annabeth said as she continued to walk ahead.

"Were fine? Were fine? We haven't even gotten to Trenton yet and we're wandering through a forest-I didn't even know they had forests in New Jersey, but we've found one! I would say we are the opposite of fine." Percy ranted making Hadiya chuckle

"We were sent on a quest by the Oracle, By the gods. What'd you think? It would be easy?" Annabeth asked "It's supposed to be hard. That's why only certain people are chosen. If we call camp we're basically saying it was a mistake to choose us."

"...Im perfectly comfortable with that-" Percy said before Hadiya whacked his arm with the back of her hand "What-Everyone makes mistakes."

"Percy? Why are you so afraid of who you are?" Zenon asked

"What?" Percy asked, stopping looking toward the brunette boy.

"You know, what's interesting about this particular satyr path!" Grover cut in trying to stop the argument that was bubbling over. "It's actually the one my uncle ferdinand took when he was sent out on his own quest-"

"What was that supposed to mean?" Percy asked the boy once again. "Afraid of who I am? I'm not afraid."

"Yes you are," Annabeth said, backing Zenon. Hadiya stood next to Grover watching the three twelve year olds have their bickering moment before they could all move on. "You aren't just a kid. "Just a kid" doesn't do what you did to Clarisse back at Camp. "Just a kid" doesn't have Hades sending top lieutenants to retrieve them."
