Dear Mum,
I know it's been a while, it took me ages to find the address again. We've moved again, and I mean 'we' as in me and my wife, Jemma, hopefully you will meet her one day. We do like it here in England, and I do like my job, you might not think it as much of a job, but my job includes a lot of things. In the envelope I have included some Insomnia 54 tickets, it's been a long time since you have seen me, but I hope that can change, they are V.I.P tickets, we will be able to spend the whole time there together.
Have you heard anything from J? I do miss her, it seems so weird, I don't see much of my family anymore, and for the tickets, two for you and Dad and two for J and a friend. Flights, accommodation and all that stuff will be sorted if I hear from you soon, you have my number so ring me.
When you see her, tell her I miss her, and also, tell her to look up 'The Diamond Minecart' on YouTube.
Lots of love,
Dan
The tears kept on coming.
"I'm sorry honey, I should've told you sooner"
"Don't worry about it Mum, I'm glad you even showed me it"
"So, who are you taking?"
"Taking? What do you mean?"
"Your father and I have been asked to look after my sister's house, your Aunt's, we can't go"
"I guess I will take... Bailey, Adean, Duke and myself"
"Good choice, that boy of your's J, hes a good lad"
"So... when do we go?" Bailey speaks up
"Just under a week, you guys leave on Thursday"
"Four days, got it"
"Now you two scurry along, I got some phone calls to make" I pick up the I54 tags, unzipping my bag and putting them in a safe place.
"Ok Mum" I kiss her on the cheek, also kissing Dad on the head.
"Bye Dad, have fun watching the rugby"
"Bye J and Bailey!" we put on our shoes and get back in the car.
"Holy crap! Did we just score ourselves free Insomnia tickets?!"
"Wow..." was all I could say.
