Author POV'S
Paridhi comes to her room after dinner, ties her hair in a braid, and lies down on the bed. She isn't sleeping, though; the face of that unknown person keeps appearing before her eyes. Lost in thought, she doesn't realize when she finally falls asleep.
The next day, Paridhi goes to her father's sweet shop after college to help him. His shop is well-known in the area for its sweets. At this moment, she is packing sweets for a customer.
Just then, Kanak arrives and greets, "Hello, Uncle."
Rajesh smiles at her and asks, "What brings you here today, daughter?"
"Uncle, today is my friend's wedding, and I was wondering if Paridhi could come with me. Otherwise, I'll be alone. Papa said that if you agree, she can go with me."
Rajesh thinks for a moment and then calls out, "Paridhi!"
Paridhi is busy packing sweets in a box, having filled approximately 15 boxes for an order. Hearing her father's firm voice, she cleans her hands and quickly comes out, surprised to see Kanak.
"Yes, Papa?" she asks.
Rajesh turns to her and says, "Leave all this and go home. You have to go to a wedding with Kanak. She will be alone, and Shyam ji has said that you should accompany her."
Paridhi nods in agreement. "Okay, Papa."
"Alright, go now," Rajesh instructs.
Paridhi and Kanak arrive home. As soon as Paridhi steps into her room, she sees her mother, Aarti, rummaging through her wardrobe, picking out clothes. The room is filled with the soft glow of the evening light filtering through the curtains, casting a warm hue over everything.
Aarti looks up and says, "Go wash your face and hands. Your father called and told me you're going out with Kanak."
Paridhi nods, her eyes reflecting a hint of fatigue, and heads to the washroom. The sound of running water fills the room as she washes her hands and face, the coolness refreshing her. She looks at herself in the mirror for a moment, taking a deep breath, then returns to the room.
"How about this lehenga? Your father brought it for you last time," Aarti says, holding up the vibrant, intricately embroidered garment. The rich colors and delicate patterns catch the light beautifully. Paridhi's eyes fall on the lehenga, a mix of emotions crossing her face, but she doesn't say anything.
She takes the lehenga and changes into it. The fabric feels smooth and luxurious against her skin. She stands in front of the mirror, the reflection showing a blend of traditional elegance and modern grace. She starts combing her hair, the strokes methodical and calming. As she works, the intricate designs of the lehenga shimmer slightly with her movements, enhancing her beauty.
After a few minutes, she finishes getting ready. She adjusts the dupatta one last time and takes a step back to admire the complete look in the mirror. Satisfied, she turns to her mother with a slight smile, ready for the evening ahead.
