Percy and sawyer would always imagine what their life would be like if they weren't Demi-gods, and if they had never fallen in love.

SAWYER-GRACE

I honestly didn't know if Percy was dead or not, but all I knew was that he wasn't here anymore.

Something in me felt numb, I could feel the tears running down my cheek but I couldn't do anything about it.

I took me a minute to pull myself together, to actually try and find a way through this and get the both of us out.

I wiped my cheeks and walked to the side of the chair, I kneeled down examining the gears one by one.

It was a lie to say I wasn't overwhelmed by everything, not knowing if Percy is actually dead or alive. Having to tell the two that he's dead because of me.

I heard a door open but I didn't look, "you're not going to figure it out." A voice spoke but I didn't answer. "It cannot be undone."

"If you are not going to help than can you atleast leave me alone!" I shouted at the person and when I looked at who it is a I was regretful about yelling.

"I am not leaving with out my friend." I calmed myself down. "I built this, it is a one way machine." But that was a lie, because he was able to get Hera out of it so why not Percy?

"Unlike ares had told you I will not be pushed around! I know Athena was displeased with you guys recently." I couldn't tell if he was teasing me or not.

"Walk out of here and you will be a hero, your father would be so proud of you sawyer and Athena will forgive." He suggested but I didn't listen,

"But that isn't how it should be! Eat or be eaten, power and glory that's all that matter." I lost my temper, there was too much going on for me to keep it down.

"Ares is that way, Zeus is that way, damnit all of the gods are that way!" I tried to explain "he isn't that way, he'll never be that way." My voice dropped as I talked about Percy.

"Maybe me and AnnaBeth were like that but we aren't anymore! We won't be like you all!" Hephaestus turned around, and I took the second to wipe my cheeks from the tears again.

Then he played his flute again and the gears started to wined down. I walked back to the front of the chair, watching as the gold devolves.

Percys breath was heavy, but he was alive. He tried to get up but I could tell he was shaky, I wrapped one of my arms around him so he could lean on me.

"You are a good kid sawyer, I'll put in a good word for you with your father, and Athena of course." Hephaestus spoke before he disappeared into the room again.

The walk back to the diner was quiet, like seriously not a word was said when we were. Until we got there did we say something.

I dropped the shield on the table, "we want our ride." I said and I looked at AnnaBeth and Grover, examining them to make sure they weren't hurt.

"Come on." ares got up from our seat and lead us back outside, he threw backpack at Percy "there are clothes, and other stuff you need." Ares groaned.

The truck was filled with animal, so the scent was not well. "Are you sure this is trustworthy?" I meant the animals.

"It's this or nothing, princess." Ares rolled his eyes "i don't really care, but this is gonna go to the casino and you can meet Hermes there, he can get you to LA in minutes."

"I'd wish you good luck, but what's the point?" Ares teased and I could see Percy's fists balled up. " we aren't going to fail, we are going to compete this quest." He starts to walk towards ares.

"You father has done this before, he's going to loose interest." Ares stood his ground "you don't know me, you don't know who I am."

"Percy." I call his name but it didn't seem to work. "Thanks for the emotional abuse.. and the cheeseburgers but we are gonna take that ride now.." Grover cuts in.

Grover climbed into the truck then Percy, Percy offered me and hand and I took it helping me in the truck.

"Do you think we could get some paper towels? It's not nice in here." Grover was cut off but I wasn't really paying attention.

I was digging in my bag looking for my nightlight, which I thankfully remembered. I turned it on right as the door closed.

"Thank God for Will." I held the light in my hand, we were all taken back as the truck started to move. It was going to be a long night.

It was a couple hours before everyone actually went to sleep, Grover and AnnaBeth went to sleep before me and Percy did.

"Thank you, for trying to get me out of the chair." Percy whispered careful not to wake the others. "No one has ever come back for me." He admits.

"You have your whole life to live Percy, I'm not giving up on you yet." I smile, nudging his shoulder gently.

"What do you think camp is gonna be like.. when we get back?" Percy asked me another question, "I don't know, but I'm excited to see all my friends again."

We slept on the hay, well we were all sleeping sitting up. I don't remember when I fell asleep, but all I remember was that I woke up with my head on Percy's shoulder and his head on mine.

"I bet you the gods are disappointed right now." I could hear Grover quietly, I just had woken up so I couldn't really tell.

"They are gross." AnnaBeth gagged, there was something heavy on my head. But I couldn't really tell what it was, I didn't care because I was comfortable.

"What are you guys going on about?" I could hear Percy ask, and I finally realized what was going on.

I could hear Grover laugh, and AnnaBeth chuckle. I'm pretty sure my whole face was red, and so was Percy's.

"I hate you all!" I groan, and cover my face. I felt like I was burning, like I was actually on fire.
