Finally, I chose to break the silence.

“So how come I’ve never seen you around here before?” I asked. There’s no point being stuck in a room in silence. He didn’t answer. “Hey, I’m sure you can still do your job and talk to me at the same time.” I laughed a little as I said it, which brought a half-smile to his face.

“I got re-assigned to Lady De Rosa about a week ago.” He still stood at the bathroom doorway, in a warrior stance. But at least I got him to speak right?

“Is that a good thing?” Let’s see how much info we can get out of this guy before he shuts down and gets out.

“Lady De Rosa is a wonderful woman who deserves the best protection force available.” he stayed over at the bathroom door. Obviously the whole cute-protective thing he had going on with me earlier is long gone and it’s now nothing but warrior-mode. Great.

“That isn’t what I asked. And you don’t have to stand over there all night, you can come sit.” With that he came over and sat on the bed across from me. Staring just like he was before. He continued to dodge the question.

“So, why didn’t you fight back when young Dominic had you pinned against the wall? From what I’ve heard of you, I would have thought that he would have been no match for you.” So he had spoken to people about me before, awesome.

“One, on a normal night, yes, I would have kicked his ass. Two, Dominic was grieving, and I don’t think he should have been grieving from the infirmary, which is exactly where he would have been if I had of fought him. And three, Dom is my best friend. I don’t want to ever hurt him. And now he thinks I killed the girl that he loves. So yeah, that’s why I didn’t fight back. Who told you that?” I put my hairbrush in the bedside table drawers. I hate that Dom believes the rumours. I really do.

“Many of the staff of this school have spoken to myself and Lady De Rosa about you especially yesternight when the incident happened with Miss Verrona in the corridors. They said that she was hysterical after, saying that she had feared for her life. I also spoke to Mr De Luca a few hours ago, he stated that he was worried that you were throwing your life away. That you have so much potential but you’re just throwing it all away. When I asked what he meant, he showed me the video of your last Assessment Training Course. And I must say, I have never seen anyone do so well, and so effortlessly. It honestly seemed like you didn’t even break a sweat. It was pretty amazing.” He looked at me, his eyes looked caring again.

“Well, it was hard, and I did actually break a sweat. They don’t know me, so they can’t judge me. Neither can you. I’m not perfect, I work hard and I know I’m good. As a matter of fact, I know that I am the bet in this school. I don’t mean to sound arrogant, but it’s a proven fact. I don’t care who I has a problem with that. What I do care about is the fact that people are talking about me behind my back and that no one seems to care that now whether I’m proven innocent or guilty, my reputation will be ruined?!”

“That isn’t true, yes your reputation will be tarnished, but I don’t believe that you did it, and you have an alibi, that friend of yours Dom however, is a completely different story. And after him attacking you, I’ll make sure he is incapable of coming near you again. You honestly don’t deserve -” Santoro was cut off suddenly by a knock on the door. He jumped to his feet. I got up and started walking to the door when Santoro cut in front of me to open the door. Ricci was at the door.  He barged past the warrior and took me into his arms and kissed me. He was then pulled away by Santoro.
