"I'm off to school too", I say lowly before grabbing my bag and two pieces of toast for me and him.
I close the door lightly and as soon as I'm outside the house I run.
"AYAAN", I yell as he's 20 steps away from me, he ignores me and continues walking.
"Ayaan wait", I gasped as I ran faster to reach him.
"Ayaan", I yell and stop when he suddenly turns to face me, his eyes are moist and his face is red.
"Are you....crying?", I ask and he quickly looks away.
"No", he grunts before turning away from me and continues walking.
"Wait", I grab his arm but he pulls away glaring at me.
"Why are you angry at me?", I mumble with a slight pout and he rolls his eyes.
He snaps, "You don't know?" and I shake my head in response.
"My father scolded me because of you", he says pointing at me.
"Me? How did your father scolding you have anything to do with me?", I yell annoyed by his sudden anger towards me.
"Because he couldn't scold you so he decided I would be the victim", he lets out a sarcastic laugh with no humour.
"That's not true", I grit out and he rolls his eyes.
"Just stop talking and get out", he snaps and I fum with anger.
"Go to hell", I Say and we apart ways. "Oh and here's your stupid toast", I throw the aluminium cover toast at him before going off on my way.

School was very tiring and stressful, today they gave us a lot of assignments and homework. Me and Dev were walking back home and Ayaan was still pissed at me, that he was throwing glares at me in the school every time he saw me.
"Is Ayaan still pissed?", Dev questioned and I nodded.
"Seems like it", I looked at Dev and gave him a small smile.
"Anyways will you help me with my math homework?", Dev requested.
"I'm not sure, I'm myself struggling with math", I fake a cry making him chuckle.
"Ayaan is good with math but he never agrees to help me", Dev groans and my eyes pop out wide.
"He's even good at something?", I say and shut my mouth up quickly.
"I'm...sorry I didn't mean for it to come out like that", I bit my lip and Dev shook his head with a small laugh.
"It's alright", and then the silence was settled between us.
As we reached home, out of habit I was walking to my house but Dev stopped me and told me that I was supposed to go there. I bit my lower lips feeling slightly emotionally all over again. We walked into the house and Mama greeted us with a glass of fresh orange juice.
"Thank you", I smile at her and she nods back with a smile.
"Where's Ayaan?", she questions me and I look at Dev who's looking back at me.
"Um...we thought he was already home", Dev says and Mama shakes her head no in response.
"He didn't walk back with us today", I tell her and she sighs.
"This boy", she groans.
