It was the Diwali week. I can't believe Diwali is only 5 days away, my excitement isn't at it's bay Dev and Ayaan both tease me and taunt me every second but I gladly ignore them and continue to keep my spirits high for the festival.
This morning Uncle Anil and Aunt Anika with their two kids Sameer who was my age along with their daughter Aarya were visiting for Diwali, there always there for Diwali without fail as Uncle Anil is Papa's brother.
"Oh my goodness", I run to the Varanda and hug Aunt Anika and she hugs me back, I've been seeing them since I was a little kid and I always get along with Aunt Anika and Sameer well, as Aarya prefers to hang out with Ayaan who's the same as her.
"Hey Nerd", Sameer says coming forward smiling ear to ear and looking at me.
"Shut up", I laugh, we all walk inside the house taking a seat on the couch.
"I'll go get water for everyone", I whisper and stand up, walking to the kitchen and preparing a glass to fill it with water for the guest. Keeping all the water on the tray, I walk back to the hall and hand the water to everyone. Aarya and Ayaan seemed busy with their conversation, Dev was nowhere to be seen and Sameer was patting the sit next to him for me. Smiling I walk to him, handing him the water and taking a seat next to him.
"So how's everything?", he makes a conversation, it was never awkward to talk to him, after Dev he was my only friend since childhood.
"Everything is good except math", I groan and he laughs out loud.
"You're still hanging on with math?", we laugh together.
Ayaan's POV-
"Yeah it must be really hard to focus on football and maintain a good score in studies", Aarya was talking but my whole attention was towards Maya and Sameer who were laughing as if there was no tomorrow. Maya and Sameer were always close and I never felt a burn of anger or the urge to drag Maya away from him as I'm feeling now.
My body and my eyes were completely faced toward them, and Aarya kept talking. They were mumbling something that I couldn't hear, and then they were laughing again. Maya never laughed like that when me and her were together. I quickly stood up, I didn't know what to say when everyone's eyes were on me, I looked around, smiled and told them it was nothing, I walked to Maya and told her to come to the room as I couldn't find my other socks. Dumb reason but she believed me and followed me to the room.
"I can't believe that you can't keep your socks in place", she scolded me as I was busy closing the door without making any noise. After finally locking the door quietly, I walked behind her who was busy scrolling through my wardrobe to find my missing socks.
"Ugh finally", she stands up, "Here", as soon as she looks back she stumbles a little bit my seeing me standing close to her. A small gasp leaves her, I grip her arm and pull her closer preventing her from falling on her butt.
"You can't just scare me like that", she huffs out but my state is still and my hands are still holding her close to me.
"And you can't just laugh with him like that", I crook my head to the side seeing confusion form on her face, "Huh?", her stare was delicate and confused.
"Stay away from Sameer", I warn and she rolls her eyes at me. "No", she says, equally stubborn.
Seeking my hands around her waist, I pull her closer to me making her gasp, this time a bit louder. Her nose was touching mine, and her strand of hair was between us blocking my view of her beautiful face. Taking my other hand, slowly I put her hair behind her ear and grabbed her neck.
"You're beautiful", I mumble and her eyes widen, if it was another place or situation even I would be equally shocked as her.
"What were you and Sameer talking about?", my curiosity got the best of me. Her eyes narrowed and a small grin formed on her beautiful face.
"Why would I tell you that?", she teased but I couldn't take it in any funny form. Rolling my eyes I let out a scoff and turned back to her.
"Tell me", I demand and she mocks me.
"I won't".
