/16/ Moving Too Fast

You walked through the halls side by side with Lumin. Taking notice of how the other students would briefly glance at you both, still wearing odd expressions. Before they would hurriedly turn away when they caught you looking back at them. Rendering you a little uncomfortable.

Yet you still continued to walk with Lumin. The two of you being fairly quiet. Which only added to your feelings. There had to be something more to the situation. Whatever the hell it might be.

"(Y/n)," Lumin suddenly placed a hand on your arm to grab your attention. His brows Furrowing in your concern. "Is everything okay? You seem... distant."

Your mind races at the thought of choosing what to say. There was absolutely no way you'd could tell him everything. You didn't want that kind of confrontation, especially with Lumin now. So what were you supposed to tell him?

Taking a deep breath, you sighed. "Everything is okay. It's Just a lot of things has happened recently, you know." You finally answered. Though, it was clear that he wasn't really happy with your answer.

"Right, well..." The redhead trailed off for a moment. His gaze seeming to drift off towards something else.

Letting your curiosity grow, you looked in the direction he was. You were suprised to see Orpheus and Eloi walking together towards you both. Orpheus seeming as though he was a bit out of place next to the taller third year.

"(Y/n)!" Eloi's voice suddenly cut through the silence as he left Orpheus.

Lumin's eyes darkened with a glare towards the other male. Crossing his arms as Eloi came to a stop infront of you both.

"...Lumin," Eloi returned his glare. The corners of his lips slowly lifting up into a smirk. "The Headmaster has requested to meet with you, you know? It's awfully rude of you to keep him waiting."

Clenching his fists, the redhead growled lowly. "I was just walking (Y/n) back to his dorm."

"Of course. Only the Headmaster wishes to speak with you right now, i'm afraid. so you'll have to cut your walk short."

Lumin's gaze appeared to harden more as he simply wished you a goodnight. Finally storming off past Eloi. Not before also giving a few quiet words to the champagne haired male. Which seemed to cause his triumphant expression to falter, but decided not to say anything in reply.

You glanced between him and Lumin's dissappearing form. Feeling extremely weirded out now before Orpheus had come to stand beside you. His doe like eyes stricken with concern as he met your (e/c) ones.

"What's going on?"

"I... I don't exactly know," He admitted. Appearing to be telling the truth. "I was on my way back to my dorm before Eloi stopped me. I'm still confused why he wanted me to come with him... But I'm glad to at least see you now after everything."

Eloi hummed with a shake of his head. Taking notice of your conversation.  "Lumin just has some explaining to do with the Headmaster. I simply came to tell him that," He concluded as if he was trying to convince himself more than anything. "But there's no need for either of you to worry about that."

You shot Orpheus a look that he mirrored with his own. Imagining that you both felt the same way in regards to the situation. And thinking back to Kenji's warning, there must have been a lot more that wasn't ever said. Perhaps that's why everyone kept looking at you strangely.

"Why don't I walk you two to the mirror chamber? It's getting closer to the curfew and I wouldn't want either of you getting into trouble tonight," He quickly changed the subject now. Growing happier when you and Orpheus agreed.

"Sure. I guess that makes sense..."

~Time Skip~

The walk back to the mirror chamber was awkward and silent for the most part. None of you able to really break the tension that hung over you now.

Quickly coming to a stop in the middle of the room. You watched as the mirror's for the three dorms floated down to the floor like the usual.

At least that was something that hadn't changed, you thought.

Orpheus being the first one to finally take a step towards the mirror with a hummingbird symbol. Only pausing to look back at you. His expression still a bit concerned.

"Um.. Goodnight you two," He said quietly. Unsure on what to say now before he takes another step to enter the mirror. The glass having a small rippling affect as he left.

You sighed, already making your way towards your own mirror. Not stopping as you bid a quiet goodbye and a thank you to Eloi. "Thank you for walking us here."

The male nodded, nervously fiddling with his fingers. But you decided not to question him tonight. Everything was just a little too much for aĺl of you. And right now all you wanted was to be back in your dorm.

"Wait, (Y/n)," He suddenly stopped you again.

Pausing again, you were almost annoyed now. Couldn't he just wait and let you go back to your dorm?

"What is it?" You tried not to be too snappy with him. It wasn't really his fault anyhow.

He frowned. "I know I can't tell you what to do, especially right now... But I just want you to be safe and to keep your guard up with Lumin. Okay?"

Furrowing your brows, you bit back your words and merely nodded to acknowledge him. You were far too tired to question him for the moment.

"Sure, Eloi. Thank you again." You finally answered. "Goodnight."

With that being said, you turned back to the mirror without another word. Trying to comprehend what you were supposed to do.

It was already made clear that there was something against Lumin. Wether or not anything could be actually true that he did something, you weren't exactly sure. Hell, you weren't even sure you wanted to know what was against him now.

Especially when you contemplated everything. Deciding that Eloi was only right about one thing, unless proven otherwise, of course. You'd have to be prepared for anything that the people here could do. No matter if it was Lumin or someone else.

You simply had to for your own sanity.
