The Reunion

Part 3

The morning dawned and Kelly woke up all happy because of a dream she'd had. The dream was basically a continuation of the moments she'd had with Beyoncé at Serena's house. But that silly smile was about to disappear from her face, because reality was calling.
Kelendria's cell phone was ringing and who it was was very willing to insist and by the insistence she already knew who it could be.
Kelly picked up the cell phone on the table next to her bed and to her chagrin, it was exactly who she thought it was...

- Hello, Dominike! Good morning to you too.  "She said without hiding her dissatisfaction. "

- Why did you take so long to come and see me? Who were you with, Kelendria?" The guy on the other end of the line didn't sound very happy either. "

Kelly rolled her eyes and tried her best not to start arguing too soon.

- I just woke up, Dominike. And to be honest, if you've called me to take my peace away, I swear I'll hang up on you and you'll spend the whole weekend without hearing from me. It's up to you! You just have to choose...

Right away, he pulled himself together and stopped disturbing her judgment.
- I'm sorry, love. I was just a bit jealous that you went to dinner at Serena's without me," said Kelly's fiancé. "

- But I went and I loved every minute of it. If you hadn't been so nasty to my friends, they would have invited you too. Don't forget that it's your fault!

Kelly was glad he hadn't gone, because if he had, she certainly wouldn't have been able to enjoy Beyoncé's company as much as she did.
Dominike knew about Beyoncé and knew that she was the reason Kelly's family had come to New Orleans. So if Dominike found out that after all these years the woman his fiancée was in love with had reappeared. He'd certainly freak out with jealousy if he found out.

- All right, my love. As you said, let's not fight in the morning. What do you say we go out? I'll pick you up for lunch.

Just as Kelly was about to respond to his suggestion, another call came in on her cell phone and without thinking twice she put her fiancé's call on hold and answered the other person.

- Hello...  " she said sweetly.

- Hello, Kelly?" the other person greeted reciprocally. "

- Hi, Bey! It's me.  " She was happy to hear the voice of the person on the other end. "

- How are you?

- Everything, and you? How are you?

- I'm very well. Thank you.

- To what do I owe the honor of your call? Do you miss my company already? "Kelly joked."

That innocent joke touched Beyoncé more than she could have imagined.
- If I said no, it would be a lie. So take that as a yes.   "She laughed to lighten the mood. "

- Even if you said otherwise, I'd know that this is nostalgia.   " Kelly said it laughing, but it was real. She could hear Beyoncé's silent lines. "But don't worry, it's mutual.

- Cocky girl, first I'd like to apologize for bothering you so early, but I was just wondering if you had an appointment today.  "Beyoncé didn't know where her courage was coming from, but she knew she had to take advantage of it. "
