I was still asleep when Mattheo came charging into the room and shook me by my shoulders.
"Come help River! She's bleeding out in the common room! "
I rushed downstairs to go and help. On the largest setee, lay River, her face pale, surrounded by a pool of blood. She looked as pale as death.
I whisked out my wand and began to try and get some of the blood back into her body. She would die of blood loss if I just closed the wound. Mattheo stood silently beside me, face slack from shock.
I then began to close the wound. River woke up and screamed. Mattheo rushed to her side and began to comfort her. I gritted my teeth and continued. Soon the wind had been closed and all that was left was blood.
Mattheo carried her through to her dorm as I mopped up the remaining blood. Together, we both stumbled through to the dorm, and flopped down on our beds.
