In order for Summer to have recovered from her splitting migraine she would have to sleep for a whole week and then some more. Tonia always insisted on going out drinking. Whether it be on a school night or even a Sunday night.
But Summer had always agreed. However, Tonia certainly enjoyed it more than Summer.
For the past three weeks, she had been settling into University; she and Tonia had been hanging out every day. They tried to go to all the events at university and make other friends but the duo had always found themselves gravitating back to each other.
Summer had joined the university newspaper society which allowed her to write articles every three days on a topic that their group had discussed- it helped her as the reading for both her classes was physically demanding. Summer was unaware that the reading was going to be this long but she managed to push through.
On top of this, Summer had to juggle her part-time job at the cafe. She only picked up three shifts a week, however she wanted more. When she first started the job she kept on messing up on simple tasks but after two weeks she began to get a hang of it.
Despite Summer and Tonia being both in the history department they did not have any classes together which forced Summer to attempt to make friends with her coursemates in her class, but she had only been successful in one. Seemingly being the only black girl in both her classes was quite daunting, however, she had met an amazing girl called Claudia, which made her war studies class feel less intimidating.
Although Summer felt alone in her history class, she had decided to multi-task. Whilst taking notes and making sure that she understood the content, she also took to staring at her lecturer. Mr Ambrose.
He was such a distracting sight but Summer was determined that she would pass this class.
As well as her war studies class, history was probably more academically challenging. Mr Ambrose was definitely tough and set essays every week concerning the topic they had gone through during that lecture. This caused Summer to have long late nights in her room and her library sometimes.

Being locked up in the library since 10 in the morning was not in Summers' plan but she needed to find somewhere else to study other than her room. The university's library looked like it had come out of Hogwarts but despite the beautiful sight Summer could not take sitting in the same spot anymore and decided to pack up her stuff and study outside.
She walked down the history department hallway to go outside and took in the posters lining the walls. She walked down slowly and started reading them in deep thought, not bothering to take in the rest of her surroundings.
Unbeknownst to Summer she bumped into a towering figure in front of her.
Summer had instantly taken a step back in shock and instantly apologised without looking up," I am so sorry."
When she looked up she wanted to apologise again.
Standing in front of her was her lecturer; Mr Ambrose.
"It is alright." He had said to her looking down.
Summer wanted the whole ground to engulf her and take her then.
Watching someone in admiration was one thing but speaking to them was another thing. He looked even better up close, Summer had thought. He had an alluring aura to him that Summer could not put a finger on.
On the other hand, Ambrose was staring at Summer in equal admiration. He knew that the student was beautiful but something about her beauty was maddening. Like something out of a painting... almost fiction.
"I recognise you... you're in history lectures." The professor said meekly. "Yes... I recognise all my students. My name is Tristian. What is your name?"
"Summer."
"Wow.. what a beautiful name. Where is your name from?"
"Like its origins...? Well I'm from a country in the Caribbean and when my Mum had me it was on the hottest day of the year... so she called me Summer."
Tristan began to nod his head and was about to respond when a student came out from his office and called him in hopes of him returning. He had nodded at the student in acknowledgment and turned back to Summer back; she had already disappeared before he could ask her any more questions.

The cafe that Summer worked at was always brimming with people therefore making every shift stressful. At first, Summer had messed up many orders which led to angry customers. Or she would lose her patience. But after two weeks of working consistently, she got the hang of it.
Her parents would be proud.
That particular day, Summer's shift was slower than usual which caused her to walk around in boredom anticipating the end of her shift. Sometimes she would encounter random people from her classes at the cafe which made it slightly awkward at times.
'One latte to go please.'
Summer recognised that voice, her professor was staring her down in anticipation.
Her mind had fogged up in the presence of the professor.
"Okay, coming right up." Summer barely stuttered out.
She turned her back to the giant and began to make his order, she felt his burning gaze on her back which led Summer to feel nervous and jittery.
Even when she handed him his order she almost spilt the beverage in pure nervousness.
As a means to comfort the student in her restlessness, Ambrose smiled at her and generously tipped Summer, which he had never done before.
