The Fire Wolves (book 5)

Chapter. 2 The trip

Dark Knight figured all his pack did was fight, eat and sleep. He knew they deserved a vacation, a small trip. Perfect, he would travel with them to the in between and they would play in the field. Dark Knight sat on the high Rock and called a pack meeting. "All wolves gather beneath the high Rock" he yowled. The wolves slowly made their way to the high Rock. "I figured we deserve a break, we will be going to the new Territory, the in between." Dark Knight announced happily. The pack smiled as their tails started wagging. "We shall go now" dark Knight said as he leapt down from the high Rock.

Dark Knight began walking the trail and his pack followed behind him. They ran through the forest together before reaching the tunnel. "Form a single file line" dark Knight instructed as he looked back at them. They formed a line and dark Knight lead them through the tunnel. As the wolves exited the dark tunnel they stared at the field. Their eyes widened. "It's beautiful" one of them spoke up. "Alright, settle in guys" dark Knight said as he sat down in the tall grass.

The wolves ran around in the grass. Dark Knight smiled as he listened to them laugh and play. "Dark Knight we should play tag with the whole pack!" Maple paw said. "That sounds fun! Let's do it" dark Knight agreed as he stood up. "We are playing tag! I'm it!" Dark Knight announced to his pack. They froze, looked at him and then ran. Dark Knight chased after them. Dark Knight pounced onto toxic. "Toxics it!" Maple paw said as she turned and ran. Toxic began running after them.

Whoever toxic caught up with was going to be it next. Toxic pounced onto ash. Scars eyes widened as he rushed over to ash. "Hey! Get off of her!" Scar growled at toxic. Toxic backed up as scar made sure ash was safe. Dark knight ran over to them. "Enough! This is supposed to be a fun game of tag! He only tagged her" dark Knight growled. Scar nodded and toxic bowed his head on respect. Ash got up and began chasing after scar. Ash pounced and landed on scar. She laughed. "Scars it!" She said.

Scar targeted toxic for fun, but he pounced on moon because she was closer. Moon ran after the pack. The game went on for an hour before they all rested. The pack sat in a line and dark Knight and maple paw were in the middle. The wind blew the wolves fur around, they watched the sun set and how the sky changed from light blue to orange and a bright yellow. Dark Knight called this golden hour. They watched as the sun went lower and lower. They felt at peace. When the moon finally rose into the dark blue sky, the wolves gathered together in the field and fell asleep.

Dark Knight fell asleep beside maple paw. Their children joined them.
