The Fire Wolves (book 5)

Chapter. 6 the lake

Dark Knight watched as his pack emerged from their dens. Snow began to fall from the sky. It was at least 20- degrees for a few days. His pack shivered but their heavy and fluffy fur kept them warm. Dark Knight joined beside maple paw as they both ate some prey. "I have a fun plan for today" dark Knight said. Maple paw smiled as she looked at him.

Dark Knight finished eating and jumped back onto high Rock. "Every wolf gather beneath the high Rock for a pack meeting!" Dark Knight yowled. "Today we are taking a very short trip to the lake" dark Knight announced. The wolves smiled and cheered in excitement. "Let's go!" Dark Knight said as he began running. The pack followed him.

They ran through the forest as it snowed even harder. The ground began to turn white. Dark Knight stopped as he reached the edge of the lake. He stuck his paw on it and it was frozen solid. Dark Knight tested his weight on it and it held him up perfectly. "Follow me" dark Knight said as he pushed himself onto the ice. He slid across the lake. He had fun as he smiled and ice skated. The pack joined him.

Dark Knight laughed. "INCOMING!" Night paw and spark said as they were sliding full speed toward dark Knight. Dark Knight tried to move but the ice slowed him down. BOOM! Spark an night paw bashed right into dark Knight and they all fell onto the ice. "Ow" dark Knight said as he began laughing. Night paw and spark laughed to as they slid and struggled to get to their paws.

Dark Knight lifted himself up and tried not to slip. Maple paw slid over to dark Knight. "Race you across the lake!" Maple paw said as she laughed and began sliding quickly. Dark Knight pushed his paws against the ice and slid next to maple paw. "I win!" As dark Knight slide across the lake. He couldn't stop and tripped over a log, he fell right into a snow pile. His legs stuck out of the snow pile and he wiggled around.

He popped out of the snow pile and flew onto the ice. "AHHH" dark Knight yelled as he slid very quickly across the ice. He crashed into toxic by accident. "AH-" Toxics scream was cut off as he fell onto the ice. Dark Knight was on top of him. Both wolves laughed as they lifted to their paws. After hours of playing everybody was getting cold and wanted to head home. "Let's go guys" dark Knight instructed as he helped everyone off the ice.

He lead them down the trail which was completely covered in white snow. They made it back to camp and went into their dens to shelter from the snow.
