<Clary's POV>

The whole world just stopped. I just stared at the piece of paper in my hand. Rodriguez. Rodriguez. Rodriguez. The word seem to rotate in my head. I can hear muffled screams of Adrianna screaming my name as I was dragged away by someone. What was that. Why is the world so confusing. I felt my head start to spin and the conscious slip away. I felt me falling but my head never hit the ground.

I was slapped awake by....... Sofia? She was about to say something, I shot up and ran down the ally way and didn't stop. I don't know where I was going. All I knew was that I trusted my legs. I ran all the way to a familiar house. Marcus's house. Why my legs brought me here, I didn't know. I saw a car come out of the driveway. Rushing past it I went straight into Mr. Watson.

"Woah there, are you alright Clary?"

"Where's Marcus?" She said trying get past Mr. Watson.

"Ms. Rodriguez, Marcus wanted some time alone." Dr. Watson said desperately trying to hold me back. And he failed as I push him to the ground and ran through the house. The house was huge. Even though only a little was seen from the street, inside was huge. I can hear Mr. Watson yelling my name over and over again as I ran trough hallway to hallway searching for my stupid brother. He had at least twelve guards per hallway. Annoying. I just dashed past them or strangled them or kicked and punched them when they got in my way. Mr. Watson's shouts became fainter and  fainter as I barged deeper into the house.

I finally found him on the rooftop looking out to the horizon. I cleared my throat getting his attention. He turned around and gave me a smile and said in a whisper,

"It's about the card, am I right?"

"It's about the card alright. Marcus Adrian Natrix Rodriguez explain."

"Ok I will. But first, how did you know my full name?"

"You answer first and then I'll answer."

"Ok fine." He said pouting. "He is my, well our uncle. Father's younger brother. Happy now."

I narrowed my eyes at him after a lot of thinking I said, "When I asked Mum about you. She mentioned your full name."

"Speaking of mum. I was thinking of going to see her today."

"I'll come with you."

"Won't your friends miss you then?"

"Nah, mum wanted me to come home on every weekend. They're good with it.

"Hmm. Ok.

"Wait I left my bag at the cafe. I have to go get it. Errrr. I'll get on a taxi and go to the cafè then there you can pick me up."

"Ok you seem to have a solid plan. Why can't you just come with me" He said brushing past me to the stairs.

" It's faster that way. Plus, unlike you I don't have a brain the size of a pea." I said making my way down the stairs. He laughed but suddenly stopped, his jaw dropped at the sight before him. I looked toward whatever he was looking at.

"Yeah sorry 'bout ya body guards."

"You can really kick some butts."

"Yeah, you knew that right?"

"I knew that you know self defence. But Nat, these are my best guards."

"So, you're telling me that I kicked your best guards and wipped the floor with them."

"You kicked them, alright. But you can't beat me." He said walking down to the back door.

"Oh I can. En garde!" I said getting in to stance then following Marcus to the garage.
