<Clary's POV>

~31st of July Night~

31st came sooner than expected this time, Marcus and I were disguised as waitstaff and Xymara and Percy as guests. Newt with the emergency exit cars. Brenda, Sophia, and Ale at the bungalow looking through surveillance. Leo and Mattheo are down in the city keeping an eye out for spies.

~At The Ball~

Marcus and I, disguised as waitstaff, slip into Mr. Kaspersky's daughter's birthday party. They blend in seamlessly, serving hors d'oeuvres to unsuspecting guests. Meanwhile, Xymara and Percy, posing as a wealthy couple, engage in small talk with the high-profile attendees, gathering intel.

As the party progresses, I make my way to the upper floors in the disguise of delivering a special bottle of champagne for Mr. Kaspersky. Once upstairs, I maneuver through the dimly lit corridors until she reaches the study, where she overhears the critical conversation between two people,

??? "Are preparations complete, Colin? Are you certain this will go unnoticed?"

Colin "Absolutely, Señor. The device is small enough to be concealed within everyday gadgets. No one will suspect a thing until it's too late Señor."

??? "And the target? England is no small feat."

Colin "The beauty of this device lies in its precision Señor. We can target the exact location. The chaos will serve as a distraction for our bigger plan Señor."

??? "Good. Remember, discretion is key. We can't afford any slip-ups."

Colin "Don't worry. I've handled more delicate operations than this Señor. Rodriguez won't know what hit him."

My heart pounds as I listen to their plan. I know I must act fast. So, I record a snippet of the conversation with her hidden microphone, evidence we desperately need. I hear feet moving toward the door. I turned to leave but fate had other plans.

As I turn to leave, my elbow brushes against a vase. It teeters precariously before crashing to the floor. The sound of shattering porcelain echoes through the room. I didn't hesitate; I rushed to the nearest window and leaped out into the darkness, just as Mr. Kaspersky opened the door and snapped toward the noise.

<Marcus' POV>

My eyes dart across the room, searching for the familiar face of my sister. The chatter and laughter of the party fade into a distant hum as a sinking feeling takes hold. Clary was supposed to meet me at the rendezvous point three minutes ago. Three minutes in our line of work could mean the difference between escape and capture.

He feels a vibration in his pocket — the signal for trouble. Without drawing attention, he slips out to the designated backup location, his mind racing with possibilities. "Clary is resourceful," I reminded myself. "She knows how to handle a situation like this."

As he reaches the car, he sees a figure limping towards him from the shadows. Relief washes over him as he recognizes Clary's silhouette, despite the disarray of her appearance. " We need to move now." She said before she touched her ear to tuck in a piece of stray hair before she gasped "I lost my earring; they might trace it back to me."

Marcus's concern shifts to action. "We'll deal with that later. Right now, we need to get out of here." He helps Clary into the car, scanning the area for any sign of pursuit. As they drive away, he can't shake the feeling that this mission has just taken an unexpected turn. He knows that Clary is thinking the same thing.

<Clary's POV>

As I land in the bushes outside, the adrenaline coursing through my veins masks the pain from the scratches. She quickly regroups with Marcus, who's waiting in a getaway car. "We need to move, now!" I said before I touched my ear to tuck in a piece of stray hair before I gasped "I lost my earring; they might trace it back to me."

I watch as Marcus' concern shifts to action. "We'll deal with that later. Right now, we need to get out of here." He helps me into the car, scanning the area for any sign of pursuit. As we drive away, I can't shake the feeling that this mission has just taken an unexpected turn.

<Third Person POV>

Meanwhile, Xymara and Percy maintain their cover inside, unaware of the chaos unfolding. Percy, with a glass of champagne in hand, continues to charm the guests, while Xymara keeps a watchful eye on the exits.

Back at the base, Mr. Kaspersky's suspicion grows. He orders his security to scour the premises. "Find her," he commands, for he saw a whisp of hair before she yeeted herself out the window, his voice a mix of anger and concern. As the security team begins their search, one of them finds a sparkling earring on the floor near the shattered vase.

The earring, a unique piece custom-made for Clary, could be the clue that unravels their entire operation. As the team races away from the mansion, Clary's mind races too. She touches her ear, feeling the absence of the earring, and a cold realization sets in. They now have a piece of her, a lead that could trace back to her identity.

Downstairs, the party in full swing, Xymara and Percy continue to mingle with the guests, all the while keeping their eyes and ears open for any useful information. They are unaware of the commotion that Clary's incident has caused.

However, as the evening progresses, Percy notices a subtle change in the atmosphere. The security personnel seem more alert, and there's a sense of urgency in their movements. He catches a glimpse of Mr. Kaspersky in a heated conversation with one of his aides, and the look on the tycoon's face is grim.

Percy leans in and whispers to Xymara, "Something's up. We might need to abort."

Xymara nods in agreement, her instincts telling her that their cover could be blown at any moment. They decide to enact their exit strategy. As they make their way to the edge of the crowd, they're stopped by a charming gentleman who insists on a dance. Xymara accepts, using the opportunity to scan the room while Percy positions himself by the nearest exit.

The dance is a ruse, a momentary distraction to allow them to slip away without raising suspicion. As the song ends, they excuse themselves and head towards the exit. Just then, the lights flicker, and the sound of breaking glass echoes from the upper floor.

Xymara and Percy exchanged a look. They know it's time to leave. They exit the mansion and disappear into the night, their mission incomplete but their identities are still secure.

They go to the edge of the field where Newt waited for them. He was surprised about the noise as well. But they drove off to the bungalow in absolute silence; keeping a watchful eye for Clary and Marcus who had disappeared out of view.

Two updates in one day. I'm making progress.
