Chapter XVII [Legendary Leaf]

  The clock is ticking down at the fourth and final day of the Harvest Festival. All harvests made remaining in contestants' inventories will be added to their final sum of points and no further harvesting is allowed once the time expires. Furthermore, all items will be investigated to ensure no counterfeits have been used to anyone's advantage. With both the Seed of Beginnings and Vase of Endings, what will it take for our gallant team of Misfits to bring the Legendary Leaf to life? Certainly not by having the former on top of the other.

  But Lead had the perception swift to realising that with Suzy created the domain and the festival being the first-years' final evaluation, the spell from their first ever Diabotany class was going to be applied to this event. However, the Seed only glowed upon casting "Quan Quan", which is supposed to make plants blossom based on imagination. Nothing worked, the hymn's lyrics has nothing said about how to make it work. Naphula then thought to water the Seed and that made it glow again, but brighter. They gestured to use the spell again while it shone, to which Iruma switched his Ring of Gluttony to Demon Mode and Ryūko followed in suit with her Ring of Pride. This time, the combined mana used by the twins and Lead made the Seed expand and contract with each glow. The cambion reached the conclusion that a massive amount of mana must be used to bring this particular plant to life. Neither Alikred nor Reficul could garner utmost strength to proceed to Ifrit mode because massive amounts of their own mana have been used up against their individual odds. The latter's mistress decided to use power that she still had yet to comprehend its purest form, concentrating her demonic mana into her channel of the spell. But it was only half of what made her blood as a whole, thus barely making it sufficient for this final task.

  "Sorry, brother! But my demon blood barely holds the water!" Addressed Ryūko via telepathy magic, "But there's someone among us with excessive amounts of mana, just get them to work with us here!" "Just what are you talking about, Onē-chan?" Whispered Iruma in reply. When Clara asked if the gang was doing alright, Alikred turned over to her glowing with so much mana she obtained after playing merrily with many magical beasts. Both entities and twins then nodded at each other in agreement, extending their hands out to Clara. "Come now, dear friend!" Called Ryūko, "Thy Prinzessin and Prinz are in need of the power flourishing under your guise! Take our hands and thou shall be one with our noble forces!" That was the cry which cannot face a lost game. Clara smiled and held their hands, fuelling the team with immense magical strength. With all finally said and complete, the way to summoning the Legendary Leaf makes its grand debut. The last enchantment was cast, and its dark magic envelops the twins in the massive hands of two powerful demons. For Iruma, the shadow of the Demon King himself, Derkila, unveiled his voice that speaks, "So it was you?". It was different for Ryūko, she was in the hands of an entity with three pairs of black wings reminescent to an angel's, face unidentifiable only with dazzling sharp eyes of crimson presenting a demonic seal. Their voice then speaks, "Welcome home, dear Heiress of Hell." What could this mean? Was the family Ryūko's blood came from royalty? Is she truly a descendant of someone in the Ars Goetia, or is she something more than that?

  It wasn't long before they got back into reality with Lead calling out to them. "Hey! You guys!" He exclaimed with a cough, "What's with all that smoke? Actually, though... Where's the Legendary Leaf?!" Speak of the devil, it appeared purple with with wings and a balloon-like structure. Not at all intimidating or matching the image of what most would anticipate for a legend. That's when the timer went out and Suzy announced that the time of harvest has expired, meaning everyone has to assemble at the starting point.

  Competitors returned exhausted after four days of fighting for their lives and gathering ingredients. Those with remaining points queued up at Shichiro's side of the hall to have their items checked throughly. Not just that, but the other Misfits looked quite burned up after the whole event.
