Wesley Evers always enjoyed finding excuses to stop into the Mid-Wilshire police station for a chance to see his wife. He spoke with his client, and then went over to Angela Lopez-Evers' desk to drop a kiss to her cheek.

"Come on, you can do better than that," Angela replied with a smirk and angled her head for a real kiss from her husband.

He was far too happy to oblige, so he leaned in and captured her lips. "How do you feel about ordering some Indian food tonight?"

"Wow, you really know exactly what to say," she smiled. "Sounds perfect." Angela's eyes flicked over to Lucy and Tim. "Hey, I think we should invite some friends over."

"James is free tonight," Wes replied.

"You two hang out way too much. I was thinking we should also have Tim and Lucy over."

"Tim and Lucy, too? Great idea."

"I'll talk to Nyla. Looks like we'll be ordering a lot of Indian food."

"Works for me. I'll pick up some of your favorite wine on my way home." He stood from where he was leaning on her desk.

Angela reached for his wrist. "Hang on a sec. You're not leaving without giving me a real goodbye."

Wes bent down, whispered against her lips with a smug smirk, "If you insist," and then kissed her gently and slowly. "Bye."

Lucy bumped her elbow into Tim's as she watched Angela and Wes' adorable exchange. She whispered, "Sometimes I wish you would kiss me like that in the middle of the station."

Tim murmured, "We shouldn't draw attention to the fact that we're together."

"I guess," she pouted. "I...never mind. I gotta get back on patrol."

"W- Lucy," he tried to stop her, but she kept walking away. Tim turned and saw Wes approaching him.

"Trouble in paradise?" Wes asked, since he noticed Lucy's smile had faltered.

"No. We're fine."

"Just a little tip, do whatever your girl wants. No matter what. You want her to be happy, don't you?"

"She's happy," Tim promised.

"I don't know. Looks like you're in the doghouse from where I'm standing. Anyways, I'll see you both tonight at my house for dinner."

"Dinner? Since when?"

"Angela will tell you the details, because she's in charge of making plans. I let her do what ever she wants as long as she's happy, and that's why we're still married."

"That's why you're still alive," Tim countered.

"You think I'm the only one in love with a dangerous woman? No offense, but I'd be scared of Lucy, too," Wes pointed out seriously then trotted away.

A bit annoyingly, Tim turned Wes' words over and over in his mind for the rest of shift. It seemed ridiculous, and yet it made perfect sense. So, as they started driving together to Angela's house, he asked Lucy, "Are you happy?" His eyes were on the road, but he could see her in his periphery and how she perked up in the passenger seat.

"I like to think of myself as a generally happy person," Lucy started with, but she knew what Tim meant by his inquiry. "But, nothing and no one makes me happier than you do."

He smiled, wholly satisfied with that answer, and Tim felt his shoulders hunch as the tension in his muscles started to ease. Admittedly, he had been worried that there was some merit to Wes' comment, and he hoped he could do something to rectify the situation if there was a problem.
