Ember's eyes fluttered open to a harsh, sterile light, disoriented and trapped in a cold, metallic room. The distant hum of machinery and the clinical scent of antiseptic assaulted her senses. She tried to shift, to escape the harsh confines, only to realize she was restrained, shackled to a cold, steel table.

A group of scientists, cloaked in lab coats and obscured by shadows, observed her with detached curiosity. One of them, a cold-faced woman, approached Ember, clipboard in hand.

"Subject 547, exhibiting signs of consciousness," the scientist announced with clinical detachment.

The words of the scientist sent a shiver down Ember's spine. Panic surged as she realized the gravity of her situation. Desperation etched her voice as she called out for her children.

"Shang! Kibo!" she pleaded, her words echoing through the sterile chamber.

The scientists exchanged glances, their stoic expressions unyielding. With a silent signal, they activated a series of electrodes, sending waves of electricity coursing through Ember's body. Agony gripped her, every nerve on fire, but her screams echoed unanswered in the lifeless laboratory.

"Shang! Kibo!" Ember's desperate cry echoed through the sterile chamber, a heart-wrenching plea that hung in the cold air, unanswered.

"Subject's response noted. Continued observation required," the scientist declared, as Ember's vision blurred and consciousness slipped away.

Fighting against the encroaching darkness, her mind clung to the desperate calls for her children. The cycle repeated—

awakening to torment, struggling for freedom, and succumbing to the cruel embrace of unconsciousness. With each futile attempt, Ember's pleas for Shang and Kibo reverberated, a haunting refrain in the sterile symphony of the laboratory.

Ember's anguished screams became a heart-wrenching, pleading whisper.

"Shang... Kibo..."

Kibo's sharp ears caught the echo of her mother's desperate cries, reverberating through the halls of her prison. The taste of despair lingered, unsettling and cold. Straining against the constraints of her own confinement, Kibo felt a surge of helplessness.

"Mom!" she called out, her voice a mix of urgency and frustration. The cold, unyielding bars of her own cell mocked her attempts to break free. The lights overhead flickered as if indifferent to the silent plea that hung in the air.

Her mother's cries persisted, each call for her children resonating with a visceral intensity. Kibo, bound by the same cruel fate, strained against her cage, claws unsheathed, but the bars held firm. The metallic tang of desperation mingled with the sterile scent of the laboratory.

"Mom, I'm here!" Kibo shouted, the weight of her inability to aid her mother pressing down on her like an insurmountable burden. The distant hum of machinery seemed to drown out her pleas, leaving her alone with the haunting echoes of Ember's calls for her lost children.

"It's no use, kid. Shout all you want; you can't get out," echoed a weary voice from the shadows of another cell.

Startled, Kibo turned toward the voice. "Who are you?" she inquired.

the weary voice replied with a hint of bitterness, his words echoing through the sterile confines of their shared imprisonment.

"Vladimir Forfin. Many believe I'm just a zombie capable of speech, but they're wrong... you can call me... the vampire"
