CRASH!!!
With a swift and determined motion, Kibo's fists shattered the glowing glass rose-colored vat, liberating Shang from its confines. She cradled her brother in her arms, his limp form a stark reminder of the ordeal they endured. Vlad, taking the lead, guided them to the laboratory, forcefully kicking the door open.
"Out of the way!" bellowed Vladimir, the menacing barrel of his assault rifle aimed at the scientists.
The scientists, trembling with fear, hastily raised their hands and retreated.
"Please, you don't know what you're doing," pleaded one of the scientists.
"Oh, I know exactly what I'm doing. Turn off those UV lamps... now!" Vlad's tone was harsh, a gun pointed unwaveringly at the scientist.
Complying with the demand, the scientist pressed a button, plunging the laboratory into near darkness. In the dim light, Kibo approached Ember, tears streaming down her face as she beheld her unconscious mother. Her heart raced with a mix of relief and anxiety.
With Ember in her arms, Kibo gestured for Vladimir to follow her as they headed toward the exit, leaving the scientists in the shadowy remnants of their clandestine experiments.
"CODE RED!!! CODE RED!!!"
The blaring alarm assaulted Kibo's sensitive ears.
From every entrance, the thundering of boots against the cold, sterile floor echoed through the room as guards stormed in, their guns raised and ready. The sharp scent of gun oil permeated the air. The werewolves faced the cold, unyielding barrels of the guards' weapons.
Kibo's heartbeat surged, the rhythmic thumping resonating in her ears. Beads of sweat trickled down her face, leaving a glistening trail in their wake. Her eyes dilated, widening in response to the adrenaline coursing through her veins.
"Oh no," Kibo muttered, a sense of impending danger settling over her.
The commander of the guards assumed a formidable stance at the forefront, his squared shoulders, and chest-up posture exuding an air of authority and command. His steely gaze swept over the room, guiding his men with unwavering precision as if orchestrating a deadly symphony of conflict.
"Fire!!!" he screamed, unleashing a barrage of gunfire at the supernatural trio.
Bullets spun through the air, and the gun muzzles flashed as if ignited by flames.
Time stopped.
Scientists, soldiers, and even the werewolves froze as if the events unfolding had been abruptly halted.
In the darkness, Vladimir's power revealed itself. Without the UV lamps limiting him or the searing light of the sun permeating his flesh, Vlad could unleash his true speed.
His perception, operating more than a thousand times faster than any living creature, allowed him to see the world as if time itself had hit a pause button.
Vladimir moved with ghostly grace through the frozen environment, bullets hanging in mid-air like suspended raindrops. A flick of his fingers sent the projectiles back to their owners, their trajectory reversing in a mesmerizing dance. In a swift and audacious move, he plucked the commander's hat mid-flight and delivered a resounding slap across the soldier's face, leaving the man staggered.
"Any minute now," Vladimir calmly remarked, his eyes scanning the surroundings with an air of anticipation.
As he returned to his original position, time resumed its natural course. The suspended bullets continued their trajectory, striking the bewildered soldiers. The force of the impact hurled the commander far away, leaving him sprawled on the floor.
Kibo, witnessing the surreal display, was left utterly confused. "What... what just happened?" she stammered, the echoes of the frozen moment still lingering in her perception.
"We need to leave, now!" Vladimir insisted, sprinting towards the exit. Kibo followed suit, her burdened shoulders carrying the weight of her unconscious mother and brother.
As they made their escape, more guards stormed the laboratory, but the only remnants left were the scientists and the lifeless bodies of their fallen comrades.
