Kaiser smiled at Camila.
"Your mom and I taught you manners, didn't we? Introduce your girl."
Silas coughed while she nervously looked at him.
He thinks we're together?
"His Girl?"
"Dad, we are not a thing," he yelled, swinging his hands across his flustered cheeks. "Wait," seeing her confused face. "I'm not saying that's a bad thing."
"What's wrong with her?"
"Nothing at all!"
Anwh, thanks.
"So you're not into girls?"
"Not every single one!"
Well that makes sense.
"Shame too," turning back to her. "Your name?"
"Camila, um, nice to meet you?"
"Huh, you're so cute. Guess the guys can't keep their eyes off you."
"No, not really."
"Don't be so modest. Silas, you're sharing a classroom with quite the looker."
"Please," waving it off, "I'm not that special."
"Interesting. Tell me, what's my son like?"
"Stop putting her on the spot!"
"Let her speak. Don't you want to know what your friend thinks about you?"
"Fine." Both the Knights waited for her.
He's just as blunt as his son. "Well," seeing the younger's anxious face. Listen to your heart Camila, okay here goes. "He's well, blunt. He's got really weird thoughts. His ideas are pretty crazy. Sometimes he's scary. And cocky. And hard to follow. And he can let people get to him."
Those daggers struck his heart in ways while his dad looked on in horror.
"That's a lot of complaints! Silas, is that true?"
"I mean," sulking, "she's not entirely wrong."
"Wait Mr. Knight, I didn't mean like that. I meant to say, Silas is many things, but they're not bad. He always checks up on his friends and defends the people he cares about."
Seeing his face pop and smile, she carried on. "He works hard in school. His ideas are very creative and he always tries to make me laugh. And he's someone I can trust." Her fists crumbled. "Sometimes I wish I could be half as smart as-"
He slid over to her before she could finish, tapping her shoulder. "Cam, you're just funny and clever. Don't doubt yourself so often. I wish I had your talent too."
Kaiser smiled.
"It seems I don't have to worry about you as much this year," bowing down. "Thanks for being friends with my knucklehead son. And Silas, treat her well."
"Of course I do."
"Good. When you're ready show her the apple doesn't fall far from the tree," giving them a wink.
He pouted. "Like I need to learn how to two-time his girlfriend with his wife"
Camila gasped. "He did that?"
"That is not the full story, young man, and you know it."
"Dad, cheating's only okay if they cheated on you first, you're in a toxic relationship, forced into a marriage you don't want, if y'all talk about it, or in a throuple!"
Camila and his dad were shocked. "Aren't you too young to know about that?"
"I'm in high school, I did my research! Besides, I would never hurt her or anyone like that!"
His father lowered his head and nodded.
"You're making better decisions than me then," checking the clock. "Next time I see you, let me know how it goes," pulling him in for a hug. "We'll eat out like we used to."
Silas pouted, but wrapped his hands around his dad. "Don't break your promise."
"I'll try," patting him before heading off.
Camila scratched her head. "Wow your dad is much more different than what I thought he'd be."
He covered his face in embarrassment. "He wasn't the parent I thought you'd meet first."
She slowly pulled his hands away. "Do you hate him?"
"Ehh. The money would've made things easier for mom and I and he's done scummy stuff. But he's like that friend you care about but makes dumb decisions. I," lowering his head, "just don't wanna hurt you like that, now or in the future."
"Hey, I know you're not that type of person."
"Kay. All the nice stuff you said about me. You meant that?"
"Of course I do," bringing out a smile from him before Ms. Caesar called them both out to rejoin the class as they reached the courtroom, where his dad and a judge were in front of.
"Good morning judge," said Kaiser. "Looking beautiful today."
"The only thing I'm flattered by is being the ones to question why it took you so long to show up."
"I could answer that if I were to go out later."
Silas sighed. "He's at it again, isn't he."
Most of his female classmates and some male peers were looking at Kaiser's well built and casual fashion attire matching his handsome face.
"Maybe you should learn from him so girls would like you."
Kaiser turned to him. "Oh son, this is your class?"
The entire class's eyes went to Silas. "Son?"
He wasn't sure how to react, looking at Camila for answers. She mouth "just go with it." Thinking about what he said earlier, he smiled, lifting his glasses to hair, and blew them a kiss with a tender smile. "Now you see where I get my good looks from."
Royal laughed while the rest of classmates were in complete shock, distraught, disbelief, cringe, and a few look like they were gonna vomit. His dad gave him a confident nod, while Camila chuckled.
Now I know where he gets his bad flirting from.
"Oh wow, you are a bastard," Oliver interjected much to Silas' dismay. Kaiser approached them.
"Who is he?"
"Oh that's Oilver, the one who put my head next to a heater."
That was enough for him to approach the young student. "I don't appreciate you targeting my son. I hear you did something to him again, food wouldn't be the thing I cook. Understand?"
Oliver gulped. As Ms. Caesar interjected, Silas was recording.
"I didn't think this trip would be this fun."
"And Silas, don't be saying racist stuff either."
"Uh, right," leading Camila to ask him. "I plead the fifth."
