Janet drove home as quickly as possible, without getting pulled over.

"Riley, your dad will be home with your brother in a half an hour, go take your iPad and be quiet in your room."

"Tan I watch Frozen?"

"Yeah, fine whatever." Janet put on the obnoxious movie, "Here, now go. I gotta make dinner."

Janet started on dinner, and on her first glass of wine. Knowing having Roger and his son at home will be hard enough tipsy. Rummaging around the kitchen, she managed to pull a decent dinner together of meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

Hearing the door slam and the excited voice of the stepchild, Janet refilled her glass praying for a quiet night.

Somehow managing to get through dinner without any issues. Janet was happy to go work on her client's painting. "Riley, ma's gotta go work on her painting, please don't draw on the table again."

Janet spent the next few hours painting, when she finished, realizing it was eerily quiet.

"Oh shit, Riley where did you go? Riley? Rikey!" Finding the children in the bathroom, "Riley, what does your brother look like a girl?"

"I wanted to make him feel pretty!"

"I feel pretty, it's all sparkly!"

"Alright," exhausted at the thought of cleaning the mess all over the floor, "Riley go tell your father good night. It's bedtime, I am not sober enough for this."

Cleaning the mess up, as well as her step son's face, Janet went and collapsed in bed, barely noticing Roger was sleeping in the guest bedroom.
