Hello readers, I know the promise I made with the 'Break' chapter and I'm changing it a bit.
The bi weekly is continuing for February, but in March it'll still be 7000 but instead of bi-weekly it will be 3 weeks for a chapter and for April, it will be 5 weeks for a chapter, which is still what I promised. After a few more days, the group arrived at the empire, or at the entrance of the empire at least.
Satoru and the village leader jumped off the sword and walked to the gate. The empire was surrounded by a massive wall that was easily around a mile high and extended all the way around the empire. The empire was divided into five parts: North, East, South, West and Central.
The imperial castle was located in the southern province and the minister's mansions were in the north. All the buildings had a more medieval type look and some were more modern, as in white marble floors and golden lining as well as carved statues engraved into the walls.
The empire was a bustling place where everyone was as safe as they could be, no attacks, not from humans or anything else could possibly break the wall or fly over it.After the group entered through the gate, the first thing they noticed was a bustling market with countless deity level cultivators, there was almost no being under the deity stage in the entire empire.
The current destination was at the central province where the tournament would be held. The arena itself was massive, nearly 50 miles in diameter and about half a mile was used for the people who came to watch the tournament. South of the arena was a small black box with fancy windows, it was obvious that very important people would be sitting there while watching the show.
Currently it was a half month till the actual start of the tournament, but it was right now that they had to sign up for the tournament and register at the right time, the day after was when the preliminaries would take place and where the weakest would be rooted out before the others, unfortunately for many, only Deity Formation realm cultivators were allowed to take part in the preliminaries. The higher stage cultivators didn't need to be tested and could simply be allowed to participate.
That evening, the group found a hotel that they could stay at. It was a large building and every room could hold up to 5 people, since only 55 people were present, 12 rooms were rented, obviously, the village leader also needed a room for himself.
The next day, early in the morning, a loud bell chimed throughout the central province and even sounded in the other 4 provinces, all participants took off towards the arena.
The 23 people that were at the Deity Formation realm and were also from the village, were faster than anyone else in arriving at the arena. The rest of the group sat down in the stadium and watched on as hundreds of Deity formation experts entered the fields. Satoru was sitting next to the village chief and asked him a question "How many sects are present?" The village chief answered "About 53, but only the disciple of 30 different sects are present in the arena, the others didn't bring experts of this realm." Satoru nodded his head and smiled "Well, our team should have an easy time if this is all the opponents have to offer." The Village chief nodded and said "Indeed, only 3 others have reached the 7th stage of the deity formation realm, while all of ours have reached above that."
Down in the stadium, many competitors were cheering on their own disciples and sect mates.
The 23 people from the village were encouraging eachother and stood ready for the beginning. After an hour, a single person walked towards the center of the arena and held up his hand.
Satoru asked "Who is that?" The village chief then said "That's the proctor for the preliminaries, when he lowers his hand, those gates open and everyone will attack eachother."Just as he said, the moment the proctor lowered his hands and all the gates openened, and in not even a second, the first few were already eliminated.
Those from the village were having an easy time defending and pushing back the enemies, many of which underestimated them, and all of those that had attacked were sent flying not even a minute later.
